"LEG UP" ON THE COMPETITION: Saints K Hopkins Grabs Early Lead for Kicker Spot

Five practices in to 2015 Saints Training Camp, it would seem that by all accounts that young free-agent kicker Dustin Hopkins has taken the early lead on fellow free-agent Zach Hocker — though it likely won’t be until the Final Roster cuts in early September until we find out who will actually win the competition to be the next Kicker for the Saints.

It would be a nice surprise to actually be legit in the kicking game. We lost games last year because Payton couldn't trust his kickers.

Hopkins has been perfect and he nails the kickoff deep. Hocker has missed kicks and his kickoffs have not been all that impressive with him hitting a few knuckle balls.

Will Morstead relinquish kickoff duties? We need to make sure we get a kicker with accuracy and a pair of brass "you know whats"
