Thomas Davis is a very versatile player, having played eight positions in high school and both safety and linebacker during his time at Georgia. At 230 pounds, Davis is a huge safety with average speed. He was slated to start at strongside linebacker in 2003 until he was forced to move back to free safety due to a season-ending injury to Kentrell Curry. He went on to have a breakout year as a sophomore, recording a team high 138 tackles and 4.5 sacks, with just one interception. He is an excellent run defender who tackles like a linebacker and has the ability to rush the passer. Davis is not quite a finished product, he needs to improve his pass coverage ability to become a more complete safety. He could move to linebacker at some point in the NFL if he doesn’t work out at safety. Thomas Davis has a great deal of upside and I believe he has the ability to make an impact as a rookie in the NFL. He could be the first safety off the board and a first round pick in April.

Positives
- A huge safety that hits like a linebacker, Davis may actually be able to move to outside linebacker in the NFL. Davis is an underrated athlete and is fast enough to chase in the NFL. Amazing in run support, Davis will be best roaming the front seven.
Weaknesses
- Very raw in coverage and will need work there. Takes himself out of plays with his aggressiveness and is a lock to bite on a play-action. His inabilities in coverage are very well known and may be the only real weakness he has.
Overall Analysis
- A safety/linebacker hybrid that is a mix between Adam Archuleta, Brian Urlacher and Roy Williams. NFL teams will have fun moving Davis around to get the best possible match-up. He will be a great acquisition for teams that are looking to stop the great pass catching tight ends that have came up lately.

He sounds exactly like Cie Grant. I like him. He\'s a play maker. He\'s not just measureables, the kid can play.
Sammy Knight with speed?
Cie Grant without the bad knees?
I\'d be OK with that pick. At least its on the right side of the ball.
