Free agent K Nick Novak will work out for the Saints on Tuesday.
 

Novak, 34, was surprisingly cut by the Chargers in favor of UDFA Josh Lambo. The Saints currently have inexperienced Zach Hocker as their kicker.

At this point just stick with Hocker, Saints. Kickers are all the same, with the rare exception here and there. They all look fundamentally sound and can kick the ball a million miles, these days, but if something gets in their head... It's over.

Hocker won the job and Novak has never been anything special. All you're doing now is screwing with his head. Not smart.

Agree! I'm tired of the damn experiments and kicker carousel. Hocker won the job, let the kid show what he's got.

nothing wrong with reminding Hocker that he is replaceable. keep him working and hustling. well hustling as much as kicker can i guess.

plus if hocker chocks at least we to a look see already.

Sean Payton flexing his OCD muscles again. It's one of the things to love/hate about him. I almost feel like sometimes Payton impulsively goes out and kicks the tires on different kickers, tries different guys out, when there's something else that's on his mind bothering him. He can't do anything to seriously upgrade the defense at this point, there's nothing else realistic to be done for the O-line this year, he's nervous and impatient, so let's go tinker around with the kicker position, shall we?

Interesting theory... Who knows. But if he really likes flexing his OCD muscles, I'd like to challenge him to a duel. I think I can take him in that department.

I would rather the roster spot used for another WR. Hocker did well enough for me.
