Well with the lack of being able to put a decent defense on the field since he has been here . Going thru defensive coordinator like he does juicy fruit. With his awesome track record of drafting players. The number of players in trouble with the law. The scandals that have occurred under his watch the Vicodin ordeal bounty gate etc. recommending hude deals for players only to see them jettisoned out of town. there has to be warming of the seat if you ask me

The only reason its not is because of the superbowl but that was almost 7yrs ago. When is that not going to be enough to save him. We got rid of Jim Mora for less and he was just as good or better than sean payton and Mora didn't have a elite qb to work with

The thread was suppose to be a poll but obviously I screwd it up

If there had been any substance to the Vicodin scandal, Komisar Goodell would have been on Payton like ants on a fish head!

We all know Bountygate was BS!

You can't lay the contract deals at Payton's feet!

Saints got rid of Mora because he had a good enough team to at least GET to a Super Bowl, if not win one! If he had opened the playbook a little bit the Saints would have challenged the 40-whiners.

As good as Brees is I doubt he would have been as successful if he had played in Mora's time.

I call bullcrap on all of that. At no point in the history of the franchise has it ever been as relevant. As for the number of players in trouble with the law, the Saints are in the near the bottom in the entire league in that number. You are obviously looking at that component of your weak argument in a vacuum.

And the supposed Vicodin "scandal" was addressed by Coach Vitt serving a pre-trial diversion. He admitted his guilt and served his time. And the "bountygate scandal" was total bull**** and was pointed out as such by Paul Tagliabue when he vacated ALL suspensions of the players due to no proof that any bounty program actually existed. Unfortunately, Payton didn't have the same opportunity because of the lack of a coach's union.

And, no, you didn't screw up the thread with the poll failure, you screwed it up with your entire pretense.

Sean Payton is the best thing that ever happened to the Saints (and that includes bress) and only an idiot would wish him gone.

The Dome is totally, completely sold out. The waiting list for tickets is currently hovering at oh, around eleventy-gazillion names on the wait list. Even if EVERY SINGLE SEASON TICKET HOLDER turned in their tickets in anger/disgust at Payton, the ownership could sell the Dome out all over again, quite easily, just on people who are waiting on the list.

Why exactly would ownership make any changes at all? If they brought in a new coach, would they sell more concessions, have better sponsors, or make more money off the suites? In fact, the ownership itself is far more likely to change in the near future, right now, than any head coaching change. IF that situation changes, then you might actually see a hot seat emerge.

Re: How Hot is Sean Payton seat as Head coach

Sean Payton is the best thing to happen to the Saints but we are not contenders year in and year out.

We seem to follow decent seasons with mediocre and there's always something that is a glaring weakness that has not been addressed that causes our down fall.

2009 - SB win
2010 - Made the playoffs and lost to the first 7-9 team ever in the playoffs
2011 - Great season ended abruptly to a pretty average 49ers team.
2012 - Payton suspension
2013 - Great season, we went down fighting in Seattle - I was proud of our toughness
2014 - They thought a 37 year old CB would win a starting job and we had to settle for Corey white as a starter and we couldnt close out any close games.

It's certainly getting warm, anything but a playoff berth this season is not acceptable and some questions should start getting asked about SP.
