The next two game are division games. 2-1 facing Dallas at home would make me feel good

It's not just the first game he's done this though

Remember last year

Week 1 - Fumbles and lost us the game

Remember the game vs the 49ers, we desperately needed a TD and he dropped a wide open TD he used to make in his sleep.

The guys done, send him packing, promote some young guys.

I'm pretty sure he dropped between 4-5 passes, one of them was a costly turnover.

Re: Colston

I wouldn't cut Colston. Perhaps take him out of the starting lineup and bring him off the bench as a part-time slot guy. Maybe he would perform better in a reduced role.

Re: Colston

Fairly easy to cover him. If he's not wide open the ball is likely getting swatted down. Even when open the drops are a real problem.

Re: Colston

WOW, just WOW.
Really? First game, on the road, new team, first real game for a huge number, against a good home team, and still in it with 2 minutes left playing sub-par Saints football. Now comments of Brees, Payton, Loomis, and Colston have to go?

Re: Colston

Poor throw by Brees, Colston makes attempt, ball bounces Arizona's way. Providence, luck, whatever you want to call it, it went against us yesterday on that play. We didn't get torched by Palmer like I thought. We have a fair team that has lots of younger players with a chance to improve on the season. Some players come off injuries and we are better. I figure if we are 2-2 after 4 games it will be a good start.

stats. (makes jerking motion.) Im so sick of hearing about his stats. 2 stats mean anything. The rest can be flushed.
1. TD/INT
2. Wins.

Re: Colston

Colston has no separation at all now. Throw in the declining hands and it's just not fun to watch. He can easily be covered one on one. But, it's not like any of the other guys on the squad deserves the spot over him. With no Graham, the Saints need more four wides on passing situations with Colston, Cooks, Coleman and Snead. Use Colston or Coleman in the Graham role.

Re: Colston

We just played against 2 of the better corners in the game and you LSU fans should know that. How much separation did Cooks have? Good Lord guys it was the first game and this is what happens when your starters don't see much game time in preseason. Game speed is considerably faster than practice. I saw one pass drop I blame on Colston, the others were not in the best location when thrown.

Re: Colston

Yeah lots of blatant over reaction fans here. Colston has lost a step and is in his declining time but I think there are still ways to use him. Since hearing of the Graham trade I have been hopeful that we would migrate Colston to a similar role as Graham. Put him in as a receiving tight end. He doesn't have the speed anymore to get any separation on db's but he could be a size/speed mismatch on a lb'er.

I don't think this guy is a lost cause or anyone else we cut was a better option. Colston is a good teammate, locker room presence and solid veteran and he will make his mark this year. He did nothing yesterday to suggest to me he isn't valuable. The pick was not his fault and the catches he missed were marginal throws at best.
