Drew is not going anywhere. No one will trade for a QB that has 1 year left on his contract and that payout is 27 million. Drew will play this year and next with the Saints and retire. With 64,000 yards he will retire a top 3 qb.

Drew isn't getting traded. What could happen is the Saints cut him lose to save 20 million of the cap hit for next season.

One of three things happens...

(1) Drew recovers, team renegotiates his salary to one that is more cap friendy...

(2) Drew retires after this season, as a Saint, and the transition continues...

(3) Drew is traded for two conditional second round picks with Jeff Ireland doing the negotiating...

The Saints front office can not wreck this franchise with that salary cap number...

Brees is only as good as the offensive line. If he is protected he is as good as it gets. When he isn't you get what happened today.

If he is hurt we wont get **** for him so what would be the point. We will have to eat the money and play a wounded QB or cut him outright.

They can keep Luck

I assumed the board recognized it meant if the season continued on the current course. Let's be clear, I am not blaming him. I am just asking if we will trade him if another season is bad.

This isn't two games, this goes back to the 7-9 we were last year, and in truth Tampa gave us the last game of the season so they'd have the number 1.We would have been 6-10 had they not. That means we are 7-11 out of our last 18 with 6 straight losses at home. After two games, not exactly. If the play on this past Sunday was not a reminder of exactly how we looked last year this post wouldn't have been made.

Let's all hope that the injury to Drew woke this entire frigan team up, but I won't believe it until I see it.

The season is DONE, Payton and Mickey are DONE. He has value. Take advantage.

I doubt Brees will get traded, like it's been said by many no team can take that cap hit. What I believe happens is Brees gets a new contract so that big hit for next year is absorbed to a more manageable number. I can also see this being Brees last year with the Saints if there are any concerns about him not being able to throw deep, or an unwillingness by Brees to redo/extend his contract.

1. The only way Drew renegotiates is if the Saints add years to the current deal. In a league with a lack of good QBs, unless he is hurt at season's end, Drew will bet on himself and make Saints cut him if they want him to reduce his salary. Some team would pay him that much on a 1-3 year deal.

2. Possibly, but unless his injury is career threatening, Brees still has 2-3 years left in his mind. He's at the age Peyton came back from a much worse injury.

3. Possible- would be interesting to see what Drew's value is on the trade market.
