They can afford both Brees and Rivers...but..the smart money is on getting top picks for Brees..and stuffing the team with high end talent to surround Rivers....

This team is on the rise....

I will try to find the link again...

I\'ll take Brees or Rivers. If they decide to ship the rookie off, ship him here. Proven or not.

that would be the smartest move san diego could make. the problem is that everyone else is leary of brees as well.

Brees, IMO, is the real deal.

They will not trade Rivers...I have read several stories..from Chargers F.O stating that....

http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports...10chnotes.html

But...noone will coment on trading Brees....makes you wonder.....

Basically..they have a few options...

1...Tag Brees..see if he can play well for two years in a row...which would be very wise...but..what then do you do with Rivers?...can\'t just trade him off then..the cap hit would be 10 million...

2..Tag Brees..and see what you can get for him...they could have a possible 3 first round picks to work with....seeing as how they took NY to the cleaners...

3...Sign Brees to a long term deal..which is what he wants...without knowing for certain if he can be consitently great...

I wish this team had those sort of problems..haha

i think they will trde brees-but are holding out for good offers...like top draft picks...

i think cleveland may bight on this..i hope not because I think the third is too high for brees.

my take is after winning the division and schottenheimer as coach brees stays. they already have 2 first rounders to trade with or add a key component or two in the draft to go to the next level. then they can defintively go with brees longterm next winter or start afresh with rivers.
if i was king there i would trade rivers now and go for the gusto. the window for a championship run isnt too long under the cap game. get ANOTHER first rounder. they could meet their two largest needs, a sackmeister and a speedy wideout, and more whether trade or draft.

read it here first, brees will not be playing pigskin in chargerland next season.... rivers, b/c of the hype and expectations, will produce a mediocre season, and the chargers will miss the playoffs, but in a couple of seasons will competing for the AFC crown...

I\'m sure that a lot of teams in the NFL had a QB problem like the Chargers..I heard that they will keep both of them, at least try to anyway
