Common theme

Once again, a chance to win in the last handful of minutes only to see the offense flame out or turn the ball over.

This act has long since gotten old...

Last two years it was the defense's failure in the closing seconds, numerous times.

Re: Common theme

Bad team management, SP has lost the team in my opinion.

We have no mental toughness to win close games.

Please get rid of Browner too.

Re: Common theme

For managing the game I thought the O did their part, the suckage we have on the D is what lost this game. I can always count on our D to not do their part, always.

GeauxForMore 09-27-2015 03:32 PM

Re: Common theme

Seems like the common theme is always defensive failures. Sure the O will have problems here and there but every week it's a failure on the defense. It's been this way since 2009.

burningmetal 09-27-2015 03:33 PM

Re: Common theme

We can thank Brandon Browner, Brandon Coleman and another BIG thanks to Marques Colston for this loss.

That deep ball to Coleman was a perfect pass, but he decides to stop and jump for no reason. Browner continues to be a human Passport, and Colston dropped about 37 passes in a row in the last couple of drives, including the 2 point try.

The interception was a horrible pass, but up until that point McCown quite frankly played great. His receivers really let him down in the second half.

Re: Common theme

We had a chance right up to the end. McCown played better than expected. The Defense is killing us every week.

I'm not really upset with the players too much cause i think they go out and try hard. I Blame management and coaching the most

Yep, same thing week after week. Now second year, with only 2013 was a break. Same ole same ole as same ole.

Once lewis is back browner should not be on the field much... unless it is to cover the te, he's good with that

Did you watch what Olson did to him today or what

We have the players, well at least a solid core to build on.

I'm done with Rob Ryan and his staff.

Not sure Browner could cover a Shrimp Poboy right about now...

Re: Common theme

I didn't get to watch the game today but I have this to say ... if we are complaining about our starting corner after we play a team with a good TE and no competent WR's, that speaks volumes. Just bench him and put in Jean-Baptiste or another guy.

Jean-Baptiste didn't make the team. He's about the only player who could have been as bad or worse than Browner has been.

Another common theme - dropped balls by Colston.

Re: Common theme

Team loss... they all suck. Defense sucked at times offense sucked in others. Really nothing good about this game... nothing good abot this season. And I was laughing every time I saw brees pretending he was in the huddle lol... this team is a bunch of pretenders.

I thought McCown, particularly under the circumstances, was impressive despite the INT. But otherwise, yeah, it was bad all over the place.

I saw Drew's antics on the sidelines. I thought that was a bit put on, as well. It was weird for sure.

Re: Common theme

Drew long shot for week 4.

That makes me think we'll see him about week 7

Wonder if we can trade down some from the #1 overall pick???

At this point does it matter? Luke played better.

We are on the way to 0-8

Only on Saints forums do get this kind of cultural color. I love it. Well done Smash

Re: Common theme

Look at our schedule, the way we are playing, is there seriously a game we stand a chance at winning?

I certainly don't think there is...I think we should move on from SP and Loomis, they've crippled this team with bad decisions.

I never thought you would say that, but you are right, it's the entire D staff.

Unfortunately, I don't see Benson or whomever pulls Benson's string getting rid of them.

Today is proof that it doesn't matter who is our QB: Brees, McCown, Montana, Manning... it will NEVER matter when the defense is a doormat!

We didn't stop ANYTHING, and when Carolina was stopped they stopped themselves on a blown play. Did Cam get sacked? No. Pressure the QB? NO! Could we cover Olsen? Heck NO. Would we even try to make defensive changes? NO. Browner = ALL DAY LONG!!!

It doesn't matter who is at QB. Our defense is such a doormat that the offense would need to score a touchdown every single time they touched the ball, plain and simple. It's just a waste of talent like Brees, McCown, Spiller, etc. etc. because they have to play a PERFECT game for us to have a chance.

SO.. Brees is gone next year along with his gut choking salary then?

If it would free up money to pick up some players on defense, and with a new defensive coordinator, sure. Whatever it takes. Will cutting him free money? I dunno. We could get caught with more dead money - something we have a lot of nowadays (along with bench warmers).

Re: Common theme

Remember when we signed/drafted all these players that are suited for a 3-4

Then dramatically announced we'll change back to a 4-3 after only one season

Sure Rob is not good, But SP has NO IDEA what the hell he is looking for.

He keeps changing his damn mind all the time!!

You are right. We're not a quick strike O either that can mask a pathetic D anymore.

The problem was McCown throwing deep right. That was dumb. He should not have thrown that way, there was no way Cooks was gonna get that TD anyway.
