I agree but disagree Gumbo..... You said yourself you can see it in Joe! Do you know him personally, \"I have actually chated with him about 10 minutes before, but that is beside the point, I agree that in every case I mentioned, You may not be able to tell, but there are those players you can see have desire, it shows in there effort, training, emotions on the sideline, hell you can tell by there body language, Hell the players that when losing go to the sideline when they come off of the feild an cheer their teammates on!!!!! Get in their faces and try to inspire them, not go to the bench and just sit.... I agree there are alot of personalitys meshing in a team and they are not all alike, But I know from experience (playing football for 8 years) what giving your all looks like!!!!!!

Look at the Patriots, how they motivate each other.../ How they jump around with sping in their step that comes from somewhere else than unused energy!!!!!!!!! Man You just gotta watch them and mostly you can tell who is putting out and who isn\'t....... I mean Look at bockwoldt..... Athleticly LOL, he is no wimp, but get real if he was all that he wouldn\'t have been a 7th rounder, just like JOE HORN!!!!!!!! You can see DESIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks like this  the nod given at the end of the play that goes bad, and you say to yourself thats all right I am coming back, and then you sacrifice your body to prove it to everyone else!!!!!!!! LOL its not just a nod but you can see it!!!!!!!!!

WD52-

The point I\'m trying to make is you can see it in some players and some players have just as big of heart and you can\'t see it.

You mentioned Donte\' Stallworth as a player who doesn\'t play with a lot of heart.

But last offseason Donte\' hired a personal trainer and bought some kind of \"oxygen chamber\" and dropped his total body fat to less than 3%. He did all of this so he would stay injury free for the entire season. And it worked!!

Does this sound like a guy who doesn\'t want to win?

What makes you think Donte\'s problem is with heart?

Ok I give you Stalworth, and maybe Tbuck as you see I said, somtimes with them.... I am not saying dump those players just because of my feeble assesment, heck no!!!! I am just saying Our Boys Lack Heart, Tenacity, and somtimes Drive, it is affecting the whole team you can see it......The only time I seen it to the extent, I said man thats ashame, those boys left it all on the feild, is in the Jags game last year toward the end of the game, and of course \"the Play\" but they need that all year round. I Beileve the coaches also have to shoulder most of that blame...... We need a motivater, cause I think we got championship talent, with a little help, not alot!!!!!!!!!

WD52 --

I agree. As a \"team\" they need to play with more heart.

But, I believe \"attitude\" is established by the defense. Or heart!!

When a team can\'t stop the run it drains all emotion from the team, IMO.

In essence, we are getting beat up like a girl going up against Mike Tyson. It\'s just hard to watch. And it\'s humiliating!!

While offensive scoring is exciting. The defense establishes attitude!!

Danno, How can you argue with the play of the Line backers the last four games, I remind you that those were the only four games those 3 LB\'s played together..... I agree bring in comp, but let watson, bocwoldt, and Allen have there Jobs taken by much superior athletes with Desire!!!!!!
?????????
Are you sure you quoted the right guy?
Here\'s what I said...
Courtney Watson-Our best LB rates an \"unsure\"? Sorry, not buying that one.
Colby Bockwaldt-Near league minimum, and a good special teamer. definitely a keeper with upside.
James Allen = Cheap player. Keep, at worst a solid back-up.
I think heading into 2005 these are are top 3 LB\'s. Its the other 4 I\'m nervous about.

That reminded me of China vs Joey Butofulco(sp?).

Nice read!

gatorman -

Gee, thanks for kicking a guy when he\'s down. I can always count on you...

I\'ll sure be glad when you decide to come back to the board on a full-time basis. By the way, when is that going to be?

If anyone can cause more controversy than me ... it\'s you!!

Hey, I\'m just kidding.. :P

P.S. -- I wasn\'t on the board during the season because I had to go back to Louisiana for personal reasons. Had nothing to do with the Saints record. You know me better than that!! :exclam:

Here are my opinions

Aaron Brooks = keep 1 more year - we have bigger holes to fill

Victor Riley = gone!
Wayne Gandy = keep
Jon Sullivan = I\'d make him run laps all practice long and eat salads for lunch

Fred Thomas = depending on price good backup
Tebucky Jones = give him 1 more year - he improved this year!

Jay Bellamy = keep
James Allen = backup
Fakir Brown = gone!
Ernie Conwell = dump him
Derrick Rodgers = gone!
Orlando Ruff = another year
Jim Haslett = 1 more year
Mike McCarthy = gone!
Rick Venturi = GET RID OF HIM!

Then there are some players fans are unsure about:
ALL KEEPERS

Boo Williams
Courtney Watson
Colby Bockwaldt

That\'s 12-players fans want gone. 3 they\'re unsure about. And the entire coaching staff. Oh, and ol\' Tom Benson needs to sell the team too!

What does that leave us?

Deuce McAllister
Le\' Charles Bentley
Montre\' Holland
Charles Grant
Will Smith
Darren Howard
Brian Young
Mike McKenzie
Joe Horn
Donte\' Stallworth
Jerome Pathon
Michael Lewis
