I am going to be the buzz kill, aren't I?

I see people talking about how we will get to 500 or back to the playoffs. People are talking about how the defense this and the defense that. I too am enjoying the win. Let's be honest, if all we accomplish this year was throttling the Failclowns in the Dome (and true dessert would be their home too) then at least we can enjoy that from this dreadful season. Let's be honest, though, this was our absolute best game of the season. It reminds me of last season's GB game. I felt we had turned a corner against Detroit last season. In truth we kind of had. Minus that collapse we would have won 3 games in a row, and had we held it together vs the 49ers, it could have been 4 games. Somewhere during that stretch of the best 4 games we played that season, we lost our team and season. So temper the expectations my friends, but know we do have a shot to put together some good wins, but until we do I am just enjoying this win. I will wait until the next week to see how we play. I hope we put forth the effort we did last night, because we can be a good team. Not elite, but good. And to anyone saying the Falcons haven't played anyone, nonsense, they're 5-0, and that is hard to do in the NFL. Do not talk down our win, we beat a good team. Oh sorry, that would be 5-1 now!

I think most of us are pretty realistic. We saw the good and the bad. This WAS our best game and it will take efforts like that just to win at all, let alone contend.

But why did you call yourself the buzzkill, and close out by telling people not to talk down the win? At any rate, I will enjoy this for what it is.

Edit- It would have been funny if my reply showed your post. Instead it's just a swing and a miss.

The win individually is a good win. It is as good as last week was bad. I don't think we should start thinking ahead with this team just yet. Hope that makes sense.

No, I agree. I mean, I don't take offense to any optimism, but for my own sanity I'm not going to get overly excited. It's just nice to see they have a performance like that in them.

This was the best FEELING win in a long time. I actually think it was one of the more historic or memorable games played in the Dome, in the big picture. OK, maybe not top five all time, maybe not even top ten, but in the top tier of something. It was a huge emotional SURGE. The Dome was rocking and rolling. People needed this so bad. This game FELT better in my gut, than even some of the really BIG wins and historic games and great plays I've seen over the years. It was a Saints/Falcons game to remember for the ages. The blocked punt in the end zone with Gleason in the house watching, people in the stands waving Gleason jerseys -- that is definitely going in my all time book of eyewitness Saints memories.

Why can't people enjoy that?
