Browns release Garcia

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The guy seems to be very difficult to work with, and he whines about everything. I do not see him as a good fit for the Saints. If this is the criteria for fitting in, he\'s probably a better fit ...

If this is the criteria for fitting in, he\'s probably a better fit than Bouman on this alone.

... no QB who\'s brought to N.O. would be given the chance to compete for the starting spot... you and I know this... why bring in another possible malcontent?
.. save the cash, use it on a LB...

On the other hand, Bowman is a significant downgrade from either Brooks or Garcia.

Bring Garcia in if he can be had cheap, and he has the understanding that he\'d have to significantly outplay Brooks to get the job. Otherwise he needs to be a good backup.

If he can\'t work under those terms, then leave him alone.

bring him on the cheap with the guarantee of competing for the start. heavy incentive pay. gotta be cheap tho.
Exactly. And yes Danno, we\'d be the Thainths...

I actually dislike Garcia somewhat, but he is at least a viable alternative as a backup - unlike Bouman - who I wanted to see get a chance, but whose play convinced me that he\'s just nowhere near deserving.

I don\'t see why he could not win the starting job from AB. Our system would suit his skills well. He is mobile and although he once aired a special of him carrying his poodle, or some similar type of dog, to the day spa for pampering, the man does show some grit on the field. Trade AB while he still has some value, give the team to JG and draft a mid round prospect to learn under him for a couple of years.

honestly, if the price is right, i say we do bring him in to, if not win the starting job, to push leon... leon has played the last couple of season like a man that knew no matter how bad he played that he was going to remain in the game and not get benched... i think having a proven qb like garcia can help the team in the aspect the leon will have to be a little bit more consistent if he wants to remain the starting qb.... and yes, his girlfriend is hot... by the way, i was the first one to say that about 2 wks ago when rumors started swirling about garcia being released....

I think that Garcia would be the perfect fit (as of right now) for our team. Whether it be as a back-up or starter. He is used to the \"west coast\" scheme and he could really test Brroks for the starting job. As far as Bledsoe being available...he is old....Garcia is only a 6 year vet so he holds more of a future if he would work out. I think it\'s a go! Why the heck not? Anything is better than Todd Bouman....I mean seriously...give me a break.

:whip: Let me be the first to beat the Dead Horse again.......
Delhome..... no errrr we already had a backup that I feel would have pushed Brooks this Pre season what was his name...... oh thats it J.T. O\'Sullivan,,,....... But the minute the fans start chanting his name our beloved coaches ship him out in order to stop a future controversy. So \"goldenboy\" errr \"Leon\" would not feel threatend, err so the Fans would not Have the ability to chant! \"We want Delhome\", errrrrr I mean O\'sullivan, but its just the same........ This is my opinion the coaches do not feel Brooks can flourish with competition and critisism, so I almost Feel with his sensitivity we should already be called the \"thainth\'s\"

pretty much every report out of new orleans agrees with that...in order for brooks to get better he needs to compete against someone. otherwise he will never get better.
