Drew Brees' victory-sealing pass to Marques Colston 10 years in the making, Sean Payton says

The New Orleans Saints' victory-sealing pass Sunday by Drew Brees to Marques Colston was 10 years in the making. That's how long the duo has worked together on perfecting certain routes and throws.

Their diligence paid off with a third-and-4 pass for 20 yards just outside 2 minutes that allowed the Saints to run off the remaining time for a third win in four games.

"If you counted the hours those two spend post-practice for the last 10 years, I'm not sure it wouldn't equal a year," Saints coach Sean Payton said Monday. "Then all of a sudden on third-and-4 to win a game, it pays off. The execution was fantastic."

Call me crazy, but I think Colston has more in the tank. I think he will show up this season.

If he retired tomorrow and became our receiver coach I'd be thrilled. I just don't think he's as sound of hands as he once was and I'd hate to see him go out on a stretcher.

We are vulnerable and he is too.

Just too many great catches accompanied by a hit have taken their toll.

to me a catch like that to seal a victory takes away all the misses to me lately. its a pass that them 2 invented in my book. if he does have anything left in that tank it must be in the next 9 games. thanks colston for reminding me how it used to be around here.

We all love Colston but over the last 2 years he has been a liability rather than an asset.

I'm still hoping that Curtis Johnson leaves Tulane and comes back as are WR coach
