Browner declined to speak on the subject Friday. But defensive coordinator Rob Ryan insisted, “Believe me, no one’s working harder on eliminating those penalties than Brandon Browner is.”

“He is the most physical corner in football, and it’s no question. And unfortunately he does have more penalties than most,” said Ryan, noting that Browner has been working to keep his hands off defenders and has been “putting the boards on like the rest of them.”

Just my opinion...

This is another example of the Saints trying to put a square peg in a round hole. (mostly due to the injuries in the secondary) Browner is at his best when he knocks receivers off their routes and covers briefly as they get passed off in zone coverage. Unfortunately, he's being expected to cover longer routes than he should. He's not fast enough to keep up with speedy receivers for more than a second as they blow by him so he grabs and holds. In a role as an extra strong safety, Browner is a beast.

all questionable calls will always go against till the day he retires. his rep gets him more calls alone than other CB in the NFL.
