The offensive line got blown up in the 2nd half

I have seen a lot of who's fault it is on the coaching side, but the O Line got their ass whooped in the 2nd half. Brees got destroyed. Honestly, either the Titans D line is really good, or our O Line sucked it up today.

We couldn't get the run going and Brees was swarmed like it was no body's business.
I wish we would have pitched the ball out to Spiller on the outside if they kept selling out on the middle of the line. This is a whole other subject but why did we even sign Spiller if we are not gonna use him. Man this is all frustrating.

Credit Dick Lebeau. That is what a real DC does.

Spiller is soft. He is also afraid of contact. On one screen play all he had to do is turn the wheels on and get that first down. What he did? He hesitated (scared by Orakpo) and got out of bounds short of first down. Payton probably benched him because of that piss poor effort.

I noticed it too, but I didn't get to watch the game too closely. Sure seemed like our o-line got its collective butt whipped today.

They did struggle a bit but we shouldn't have to score 40 points a game just to have a chance to win. They gave it everything they had last week and had to do it again. I'm willing to give them a pass considering our D is just so jekyll and Hyde.

Know Brees was flinging it all over the place early on...

But gotta believe we have a hard time changing gears to the run game...

Always believe you 'softened up' those pass rushers with a healthy dose of ground chuck...

Ingram's been on a roll and you got that investment in Spiller just sitting there and you decide to throw it all over the place - putting your defense right back on the field ?!?

Re: The offensive line got blown up in the 2nd half

they played pretty good for the most part. This was the first real test in weeks against a top rated defensive front 7. actually held up better than I thought. Drew took only 75% of the pounding I was expecting.

Biggest glaring issue is both OG.

Evans is getting a bit long in the tooth and gets pushed around a bit more in the second half of games.

Litto while a pretty good run blocker still can not handle even the simplest of stunts up front. Poor guy just does not seem to be able to live in a phone booth.

Streif like Evens is getting up there and it shows. At least we have something in the wings getting trained up to take over. I hope Peat learns to to dance to his right as well as he dances to his left. the time at LT showed he was better against the speed rush than once thought, Now to do it on right. sounds simple but it is not

So OG is still high on my list

Re: The offensive line got blown up in the 2nd half

Did anybody see Brees' split lip in the post game press conference? What the heck happened there? When your MVP Pro Bowl quarterback has a split lip, and looks like he might have lost a tooth or bruised his jaw or worse, that is NEVER GOOD.
