From My Pespective at FedEx Field Sunday

I was fortunate enough to have an old college buddy who hooked me up tix to this game. First of all, BEAUTIFUL seats! I took my Uncle (76 years old and a die hard Redskins fan) and I wouldn't trade that time with him for the world!

That being said, allow me to share some of what I saw that I found more than a little troubling...

- Colston. Love the guy. He is just not the same competitor as the Quiet Storm we've come to know and love over the years. He's admittedly slower, but the big difference is now he plays scared. Once upon a time he could stretch out and snag a ball thrown anywhere in his zip code. Now, he drops routine passes because he seems to be anticipating the big hit. Not sure if his head is fixable at this point.

-Byrd. I don't know if it's yet another mystery to the defensive scheme. As an opposing QB, when I see a FS sitting 20 yds off of scrimmage, knowing it's 2nd and 8 or 3rd and 7, I already know that you're irrelevant to 90% of my play calling. Cousin's might as well have been playing against 10 players on the defense for all of the impact had.

-Browner. I've given up trying to figure out what, if anything, he's doing on the field besides collecting a paycheck. The only talent he seems to have is in sustaining drives of the opposition by holding receivers on 3rd down. He needs to go. NOW!

-Ryan. It is plain that the players have given up on him and his system. As a unit, they look lost and unmotivated. It was plain to see on SEVERAL plays that there was utter confusion, with players trying to figure out what formation they were supposed to be in. Stop the bleeding and give him a ticket on the same bus as Browner. Fire him now.

-Payton. The Boy Wonder has lost his edge since his suspension. The play calling is pedestrian and shows a singular lack of creativity to keep the opposing D on their heels. You can't figure out how to get 1 yd on TWO crucial 4th down plays against a so-so run defense? Really? File this under: C'MON MAN!

And last but not least, Brees. My love for our future HOF QB and all he's done for the franchise is unquestionable. That being said, he was mediocre at best against an average Redskins D. He seems indecisive and holds on to the ball entirely too long. He doesn't lead his receivers so that 50% of the passes are behind them in the route and he CANNOT hawk the deep ball! (Watch the film and see how many deep routes he hits the receiver in stride or even overthrows him, because it's rare these days!) His ability to 'see' the field (which made him lethal in the past) and hit his throwing windows appears non-existent. Couple these things with the fact that his bloated contract has practically gutted the team of veteran talent and his value, as a top tier/ top paid QB should be looked at closely if the team is to move forward in retooling and be competitive in the near future.

-The Who Dat Nation. My God! fully 1/4 of the stadium was wearing Black & Gold! Even in a disgusting loss, it did my heart good to know that there were several others who shared my pain!

-Redskins Organization. Kudos for their tribute in support of our Vets and having the French flag at center field during the National Anthem. That show of support was awesome! But I felt sick every time I had to listen to that 'Hail to the Redskins!' fight song!

A wise man once said, "Poo-poo smells just as bad as s#!%. One just SOUNDS cuter!"

Re: From My Pespective at FedEx Field Sunday

I agree with just about everything except the Brees part. I am not saying he does not deserve blame but he was noticeably different after that sack that ripped his helmet off. I think he was concussed because he was not the same after that.

But all in all, your opinion is pretty much spot on.

I was thinking the same thing. In my opinion Brees and Ingram looked like the only saints to come out the locker room after halftime. I would like to know what was said during the half cause it look like the whole team players and coaches came out unmotivated

Ditto. I was at the Indi game. Not Brees' best but he made some unbelievable throws. Then consider what he did against the Giants. The key for Brees, like any QB, is protection. After taking bit hit, any QB isn't going to be right. Consider the number of hits he took last week against TN. If he has to endure much more of this, his season and career are going to be shorter.

Hey leilung I was there too and amazed at the amount of Who Dats at the game. That Hail to the Redskins deal was ridiculous not to mention the constant Redskin propaganda commercials. The drunk Skin fans who were mockingly chanting Who Dat was a bit much as well. Probably one of the darkest days being a Who Dat especially against the Skins in a blowout game.

Re: From My Pespective at FedEx Field Sunday

I saw SP do performance reviews of the bench to see what he has sitting there, even on the offensive side of the ball.

wonder if it was the first step in prepping the draft chart based on needs first and see if they could afford to skip a need to go with BPA.

Hate to say it but needs seemed to win hands down

Agree with everything except that Bree's part.
What does money have to do with how players play?, He didn't force them to give him that contract it's a two way street. 50% of his passes are under thrown Really? It seems to me Some of you are but hurt about his contract so whenever he plays mediocre you all throw it in his face. his ARM isn't the problem the Inerior line is, the crucial drops are. flat foot throws equal more inaccurate throws. He signed his contract and has missed one game since 9/10 shows up and does his job, Does he force some throws of course but it's DREW that's what he does get over it he consistent can't say that for to many other players on our team.
