I don't understand how players in a system for 3 years still don't know who they are suppose to cover. This is a great article with videos of each example. This is why Ryan had to go people. I am not saying that our players are the smartest but can they really be this football dumb? These are only small snippets, imagine seeing film on every game..scary

RR he knows what he's doing, certainly enough to field a decent defense. It seems though he needs people under him who instill discipline on the field. He really lacks that ability to create something outside of X's and O's. Greg Williams had it, really fire people up and push on them. RR also made critical errors moving players where they do not belong, basically taking their strengths and turning them into weaknesses. That's great on paper but seldom translates to success on the field. Some of it he had no choice but some of it was was absolutely not going to work like Will Smith as a LB.

In engineering we use the KISS principle. Keep It Simple, Stupid. Some like to design complex systems as temples to their brilliance. Others like to design systems with the lowest failure rate. The two rarely coexist.

In industry you have to design systems that can be operated and maintained by the plant personnel.

Just because it looks good on paper doesn't mean it will work in/on the field.

He obviously isn't a coach......he's a schemer. His dad had innovative schemes and would then teach them to his team. The problem is Ryan can't teach his principles. He can't implement his schemes because he can't coach. I believe it's that simple. Oh, and he can't change a scheme to fit the personnel or make in game adjustments either.
