Even J.J. Watt agrees with me about Right Tackle

Look, personally I love Zach Strief and pull for him as a Saints' fan; but this confirms what many of us diehards painfully don't won't to admit; and citing Pro Football Focus "assessment" further shows how far sabremetrics have to go...

There's no substitute for the ole' eyeball test...

Move Strief inside and start Peat and Armstead at the Tackles...

Re: Even J.J. Watt agrees with me about Right Tackle

There's only been 3 teams that have held him without a sack and only one that's kept him from recording any tackles ... we are talking about JJ Watt here, league leader in QB sacks and probably the reason Houston's won their games the past few weeks, #shrug.

That is a pretty good way to trash talk though, kindler/gentler, makes a point, doesn't antagonize or fire up the opposition,.

Strief has been bad for way longer then the fans on this board want to admit. He should have been replaced years ago. He actually should have never been a starter.

I've never had a problem admitting Strief's struggles. It's never been anything personal, but he just isn't very good. Getting blown up by Watt is not about to be the scale tipper. He continues to start due to the Saints' years of refusal to properly address the tackle position. They have always made it a priority to pay money on interior linemen, and stick random dude's at tackle.

They finally got lucky that Armstead fell into their laps a couple of years ago, and then last year they took who, in my opinion, was the worst among all tackles who were projected within the first two rounds. If Peat ever becomes even serviceable, similar to Jon Stinchcomb, I think it will take him a long time to get there (like the aforementioned Stinchcomb).

Yes, Strief is having a rough year. No, there is no one available to replace him yet. Sure, if Peat was ready he would be the starter. IMO moving Peat inside is a strong indication that he isn't ready to man the RT position yet. More work is obviously needed on the front line after the season ends.

We should have taken Marcus Peters at that spot.

+1. I hope the kid works out but even that (Stinchcomb status) is a big IF.

Strief was best in the TE eligible role.
