TSN, Saints interested in Warner

Kurt Warner's refusal to give up on plays cost him a lot of sacks and, ultimately, his starting job with the Giants. But a team with better pass protection can make Warner's stubbornness an asset instead of a liability. Even Giants coaches quietly are endorsing Warner as one of the most courageous players they've ever seen.
Warner still can be a starter who lifts his team. He could have quite a few teams interested in him, including the Saints, who are through coddling Aaron Brooks

Warner would get killed behind our O-Line. I personally don\'t think our WR\'s run the precision routes he was used to in St. Louis. If he comes here he\'ll end his career in the ER.

He\'s no long-term solution but he is good enough to push AB. Had the Giants stuck with him, they may have made the playoffs as he was replaced when they were 5-4. Eli went something like 1-6. He was getting killed behind the Giants o-line and had a winning record. I\'ve been told our WRs are much better than the G-men\'s.

I\'d feel more comfortable with him as backup than Bouman since he could start if called upon. Maybe not the best fix for us and especially not long term, but something to look at anyway.

LOL - :D

You\'re absolutely right. The media is always hard pressed to come up with a story this time of year -so- they just go inventing one.

Haslett is through codding Brooks? Hmmm. Yeah, I guess that\'s why he promoted the QB coach -Mike Sheppard- to offensive coordinator so they could keep the offense in tact.

while warner is not as young as he use to be, i think he could still pick defenses apart........behind our offensive line he may have to fear against the better defenses, but i also believe he reads em better then brooks......
the thing that killed it for me with brooks is when he said he was a great qb on an average team....(or something to that effect) i have no faith in the man now no matter what he is capable of doing. as far as i\'m concerned, don\'t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. low class will always be low class. and while we may never get warner, i\'d trade brooks straight up for him in a heartbeat............smitty

Just think, if we signed Kurtsy, we could say that we have a QB that is a 2 time league MVP and a pro-bowler on our team.
What do you guys say, thumbs up or thumbs down...pardon the pun. ? ?

Warner is an interesting prospect. He\'s got the ability if he\'s in the right system.

Under Mike Martz - Waner was required to get the ball off quickly as that is the foundation of the Mike Martz offense. In the Saints\' offense the QB uses a lot of play action passes and and is more of a true pocket passer.

The only way I can see Warner being effective is if he had great protection from the offensive line. Warner has real problems any time he gets any pressure at all. All of the concussions he has sustained has made him a bit gun-shy when it comes to standing tall in the face of pressure. And he just doesn\'t have the mobility to escape.

One other thing to think about is he might be another coach for AB. If AB will listen. Warner knows his stuff, maybe he can teach AB a thing or two. Just a thought.

Even if we were considering him, he would not consider us. He\'s looking for an oppurtunity to start, not back up. He does not realize he is coming into the tail end of his career. I\'m pretty sure AB would have at the competition if he were brought in to compete. We are better off drafting a QB in the 3rd or 4th round and developing him.
