It was a disappointing season for the 7-9 squad; their third losing season in four years after being a perennial Super Bowl contender. The defense struggled and the offense really didn’t come along until midseason.

Brees proved he is still at peak performance

34 TD's and only 11 interceptions is a great season, bear in mind that Brees had;

3 second year wideouts to throw to (cooks, Snead, Coleman)
A 15 year veteran TE
An O line that could not figure out which player fitted where.
For what seems like the 100th time in the Payton era, the worst defense in NFL history......AGAIN!!!

The one thing I took away from this season. We are primed to repeat 2009.
