Pump the brakes on the third but I did see great progress from last year going by the few games that they show in my raggedy region.

The O-line did play better down stretch which helped our running game after we were down to the third and fourth running back on the roster.

Re: Saint O-Line Ranks Third.

Am I correct the Saints wound up with the 8th ranked offense for 2015? Do you finish in the Top Ten without a Top Ten ranked offensive line? I don't think so. The games I was able to see, the O/L did not look that bad. Detroit fans have had this similar debate for decades where their offensive line was highly ranked, but the team had a losing record. I even compare the much maligned Jeff Backus to Zach Strief, but don't let the thread dissolve into one player at one position.

I think offensive lineman are misunderstood. They are big-hearted, kind, protective, humanitarian souls whose sole purpose is to walk a wall and make sure nobody gets hurt. The reality of it is, they can only hope to hold out a defensive lineman (who are basically cruel, mean, sadistic, serial-killer types) for 3-5 seconds while a play develops. If they've done that, you can't really blame them for lack of offense, IMO. And ... when they're facing one of the top D/L in the game, you gotta' cut 'em some slack and look at the entire body of work, JMO. That's how they end up with a third, IMO.

So, in conclusion, maybe not third, but not surprised to see 'em in the Top Ten, eh? :)
