William Green as a back-up?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/3420372 He along with Warren are being allowed to seek a trade. I like William Green. He could be okay as a backup. Can we talk Cleveland into giving him to us for Howard and our 3rd for their first? ...

And waste Howard on a back up RB?.....

No Dice...If he is to be traded...It would be best given for a high pick or two...OR..A top notch D player...

How much higher can you get than the 3rd pick in the draft? Did you not read this part?

Howard and our 3rd for Green and their first. do you just like to argue?

sounds optimistic to me. those firsts are crown jewels. i would be happy with howard for their second tho, #33. then what is green worth? maybe a 4th at highest? a good add for that or lower... howard, our 5th for #33 and green. i authorize the offer, hehe.

If it\'s Howard and our 5th, for Green and 33, i\'d take that. Seems fair. I gave our 3rd cause I wanted their first, that is Derrick Johnson territory. lol And it was WAY optimistic on my part, admittedly.

I would be pleasantly suprised to see Howard traded for any pick above the top 50...that is..with an additional vet player....

I really don\'t know if anyone will bite too hard on giving up a top 30 pick..plus..a good vet player..for Howard..he has been stamped with some injuries...and..hopefully..his strong play this year..will net him value...But..it doesn\'t really help things to have him coming off one of the worst team Defensive showings in NFL history...I don\'t know how much that matters...but..it stands to hinder the value...

We signed Stecker last year. He is a good backup, we have more pressing needs like a 32nd rkd D. But Green can make a great impact somewhere!!

Green makes me nervous. A couple years ago he got arrested for weed and stabbed by his girlfriend in the same week. I think 3/4ths of my fantasy backfield either got hurt or arrested that week. Not good times.
He is a talent, but do you trust a player with his history in the Big Easy?

Well..To me...we aren\'t even in a position...to where we would be forced into getting a guy like this..Stecker is decent enough..infact..he\'s not too bad...and Deuce is great....

Some people feel like we should take a look at each and every F.A that comes available...

But MOST of us would agree..the Defense should be the focal point of the F.A. period..and certainly the draft....though a few...1-2 ....Tops ..new faces in the Offense would be nice to.

William Green was given the chance to prove he\'d amended his ways, he responded with more minor drug infractions, domestic abuse charges, and pre-game fights with other teams. It might be different if the guy were more talented, but he couldn\'t even beat Lee Suggs out of a job, for chrissake. His production is not NEARLY worth the trouble...

I like Stecker. He filled in pretty nicely when Deuce was hurt last season. He\'s got my support until he lets us down...
