In the state of Louisiana 2nd degree murder is commonly used in place of 1st. 2nd throws out the death penalty. When charged with 1st the scumbag get states lawyers. They get a whole team of them and questioning after being charged is impossible. I see it first hand. I have seen cop killers get charged with 2nd. Same law just with death taken out. Louisiana RS codes 14:30 vs 14:30.1

I think we should also keep Pierre Thomas in our thoughts and prayers because he was there when it happened and I can't imagine the mental and emotional toll this will take on him.
