Im not of the opinion that Ingram cant be that back to be honest. Over the past two years he has shown a toughness to run right up the middle take hits and keep moving. My worry is more his inability to stay healthy all year. Being more run orientated would be useful in taken it off Drew's shoulders each week and could potentially extend his career. Teams are always going to worry about him when he is on the field especially with Cooks speed.
A couple of nasty guards,Armsteads speed to open up lanes and block upfield. Sounds promising. Id be looking for a second RB as i dont trust Spillers health though if Ingram goes down.

I love run first football,so long as you can still keep teams second guessing in the passing game.

If we are going that way Treadwell may well be a option at 12. Big string physical receiver to take over from Colston. Red Zone threat snd has the body to be a good down field blocker. If we do take him and Drew gets a new deal id love to get Anquan Boldin in for a year to take him undet his wing. Or if nobody picks up Colstonaybe bring him back
hagan714 and billyt81 like this.

"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Well that's just it he can't stay healthy, and for him to be like AP(or McCoy) he would need 24 carries a game and to rush for 100+ per game and 150+ in a couple.

enter what may be the safest BPA on the board at 12 Ezekiel Elliott. Still trying to wrap my head around him in the top 10. he is good but... If there was a back built for the saints offense IMO it is Ezekiel Elliott. He does it all very well but is not excel elite in any one area.

A possession WR in the shorter areas of the field and goal line would be a great addition but like Elliott he not excel elite in any one area. Better impact player in the middle of the field with deep threat ability maybe Josh Doctson WR TCU.

which way do you go?

Trade back a bit grab a pick and the left overs between Treadwell or Doctson and add a back that later or ride the ponies you already have?

Right now these are the only offensive players on top 100 or so list. It is not because we need defense either. I am just not that excited by offense this year

Ezekiel Elliott
Josh Doctson
Laquon Treadwell
Conner Cook
Hunter Henry
Tyler Boyd
Joshua Garnett
Vadal Alexander
C.J. Prosise
Nick Vannett
Connor McGovern
Jason Spriggs

The saints will not draft a single offensive player on my list in the first 3 rounds. They never do so call your bookie it is a safe bet. 0 for a zillion so far in the first three rounds i believe.

after round 3 i get excited by the offensive players available.

Right now trade back like i say ever year.

You must not have been watching him block on his "off" plays...

No, he was. Really! He was experimenting whether the offense could take over for the defense too.

He's always experimenting. The man is innovative and is creative. Give him the pieces to play chess and watch him control the board.

Baloney! Payton has been rebuilding his offense for the last 2 seasons. He got the TE he needed this offseason. All he needs now is another WR and Guard and the rebuild will be complete.

Um, we had a TE last year who left for another team. All we did was basically replace with a faster version. He never used this offense he wants to last year and basically called predictable plays I'm guessing because the season meant nothing.

I guess I was not clear it would appear. Ezekiel Elliott does everything well. He is a complete back. But history has home run hitters in the top ten. RB that are no way as well rounded as him. Ezekiel Elliott is no Todd Gurely in his running skills but Todd Gurely is no where near what I would call a complete back.

All the so called experts match him with the perfect team and to my amazement no one talks about what a perfect fit Ezekiel Elliott is with the saints.

Ezekiel Elliott is the first back in a long time that I would be good with since the Duce pick way back in 2001. Since that time the saints have drafted RB in the first round I had other players rated higher and did not see them as a great fit like Elliot.

2006 D'Brickashaw Ferguson over Reggie Bush
2011 Mark Ingram was not on my short list.

last backs i really liked were all well rounded backs.
2014 3-Charles Sims
2015 3-David Johnson 4- Jeremy Langford,

So I do not chase RB in the first often but he could be a perfect fit for the saints and himself. spliyying time with Ingram would reduce some of that high volume wear he had at OSU.
