Thoughts moving forward
WwwSitting here reading all the thoughts and opinions expressed on this site and others .Here are some of my thoughts moving forward. Rankins provides a needed presence in the middle he comes in from day one to an improved rotation at DT. Thomas is a needed additional WR that on paper is an upgrade to position group. Bell is a player who I think will play earlier than late especially in the nickel and adds a ballhawk to a defense lacking those skills.The bottom line is IMHO these three will make contributions early and often.Daniel O as I will refer to him until I learn his last name is a boom or bust pick with huge upside . His video is impressive,his story amazing,and potential is promising. If and it is a big IF he can fulfill the promise just might the steal of the draft.Think Ziggy Ansah but bigger. Sometimes you gamble on greatness. Saints rolled the dice on this guy.I see some comparison to J.Graham . A raw physical talent with the intangibles you look for. Consider Davis Tull and JP Williams essentially rookies . Both have a chance to play roles and contribute. Pro football focus rated our UDFAs as the # 1 group. Almost a third of the NFL rosters are made up with former UDFA s . The SAINTS have a history of finding gems in these UDFA. Some of these guys will make the team and the practice Squad should yield promise for the future.. The key to our success this season is highly reliant on Dennis Allen being able to develop some kind of consistent Pass Rush. I am optimistic that these players and the continued development of last year's draftees make us a better team talentwise. It's going to be a great preseason and training camp watching how all this plays out . WHO DAT
