New Orleans Saints receive harsh offseason grade from ESPN

Before we dive into the negative, Barnwell did state he felt the Saints upgraded their interior pass rush with the addition of Sheldon Rankins and Nick Fairley. However, that’s about where it stops.

Barnwell called attention to the areas where he felt the Saints failed or went wrong this offseason. The areas focus around paying too much for tight end Coby Fleener, failing to extend quarterback Drew Brees, and going all in on free agent cornerback Josh Norman.

Laughable article.

We get dinged for going after Norman with big money. Uhh, we didn't get him.

We can still re-sign/extend Brees

He implies we didn't address our defense in FA because of the Fleener deal.

Uhh...How about Fairley, Laurinaitus, Robertson, Rankins, Bell, Stupar, Harris, Oneyamata, xBrowner, and injury returns by PJ Williams, Davis Tull, Keenan Lewis and several new coaches including a new DC?

Has ESPN seriously gotten this lazy?

Face it... ESPN thinks we suck and is going to vote for Hillary Clinton. :annoy:
Does that begin to make sense to you now?

The only one in denial is ESPN. Hence all the sports casters who have left.
ESPN....Shut Up!

Hard to argue about overpaying for Fleener; we said that here months ago

the others are ridiculous-
we were all-in on Norman? The fact that we could even make that deal work is a miracle...so how is the deal falling through a negative?

Brees hasn't signed? did we need him to? Who did we miss out on because of that money?

this article sheds some light:
Josh Norman: Family swayed him to pass on Saints for Redskins | NOLA.com
1- Brees will sign if / when we need money
2- Norman and his support group won't be heading to any Mensa meetings anytime soon
