Saints sign David Onyemata to rookie contract
 

The New Orleans Saints have signed defensive tackle David Onyemata, the team announced Wednesday.

Onyemata, the 120th overall selection in the fourth round, was the last of the Saints' five draft picks to sign his four-year rookie contract.

Onyemata, a native of Nigeria, played college ball at the University of Manitoba in Canada.

Based on his draft position, Onyemata's contract will be worth $2.88 million and include a $542,000 signing bonus.

let the molding begin. Can he become a starting NT in one year? not like beating Jenkins out is that huge of a task. Speaking of the marsh mellow I wonder is contract years will be the motivator for the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man?

#1 consensus player up there ... I know he played in Canada but for us to get him just seems like a good thing. I've also read he is a quick study & those who know him best have tagged him as a STUD. I think Jeff Ireland may have found him a gem.

Between Onyemata and Davison we're going to have some decent rotation on the D-line. The Saints will benefit greatly from these two mid round draftees. They both have excellent potential.

Both are lighning fast and have brute strenghth add our #1 draft pick in there and we might just have a starting line. I hope our D coaches don't screw this up!!
