Drew Brees came into the OTA and minicamp portion of the offseason with an expectation that Coby Fleener would frequently be an open receiver.

It's what Brees saw on film last year. And it's what he ended up seeing on the New Orleans Saints practice field this spring.

Fleener, along with returning receivers Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead, were the three most-targeted players by Brees in the three-day mandatory rookie minicamp that concluded Thursday.

Call me crazy but I think Brees and Fleener may connect quite a bit this season.

Grahams best season was 99 catches for 1,300 yards. I wonder if Brees/Fleener may surpass that?

I hope not to be honest, Brees has proved he is a better QB when he spreads the ball around.

Our offense became predictable when Brees would zero in on Graham every 1st and 3rd down.

True, but if Brees throws for 5000 yards, 1300 is only 1/4 of his completions.

I don't think Drew was forcing it to Graham in 2011. Maybe in 2013, and definitely in 2014 for sure.

Completely agree, 2011 they were on another level, the desperation was properly on show in 2014.

Nearing the end of 2013 we needed Graham to step up and he got intimidated when faced with physical defenders.
