Bigger sleight: Brees or Roethlisberger.

Forget Roethlisberger. The fact that Brees is #30 and Geno Smith is at #29 tells me how much of a joke this list is.

Re: Bigger sleight: Brees or Roethlisberger.

Drew always gets hated on when it comes to any kind of list...

I mean how can anyone argue with the records he owns:

Quote:

NFL records

Brees holds numerous NFL records including: the most consecutive 4,000 yard passing seasons (10), highest completion percentage in a season (71.2%), most 300+ yard passing games in a season (13), most consecutive games with 300+ yards passing (9), most completions in a season (468) and holds the record for most consecutive games with at least 1 touchdown pass (54), surpassing Johnny Unitas' record of 47 straight games with a touchdown pass, a record which stood for 52 years.[96]

Since joining the Saints, he has led all NFL quarterbacks in: total passing yards six times (three of those over 5,000 yards), thrice in completion percentage, once in passer rating, and four times in touchdown passes.[97] Brees has the 4th in most career passing yards and tied for 3rd in most career TD passes all-time with Tom Brady in NFL history, behind Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. Dan Marino is 3rd on passing yards.[98][99]

Its off-season click bait, and I'm guilty as charged! :p

Drew is still in the top 3 QB's in this league. Anyone who disagrees needs to back off on the meds.

If teams could chose any QB for just the 2016 season, Drew would certainly be in the top 2 or 3, and at worst maybe 5th.

I think everyone needs to see this list for what it is: frivolous off season entertainment that is flawed at quite a few levels:

First and foremost is trying to predict a future outcome based on past information. You can see this in this 30-21 group with Fitzgerald and Marshall. Does anyone really think that they have improved 30-40+ slots over a single year? No. They had good years last year so the projection is that they'll have good years next year.

Second is the flawed matching of team and individual performances. There are 5 QBs higher on the list than Brees because none of those QBs were on 7-9 teams.

Finally it's Geno Atkins, not Geno Smith.

Mark my words: the Saints go 12-4, deep into the playoffs, with Brees having an outstanding season, then next year he'll be in the top 5 on that list. Even if the stats are fundamentally the same.

And this is why the frivolous off-season entertainment is a joke.

Re: Bigger sleight: Brees or Roethlisberger.

It depends on who you ask. In New Orleans it's Drew. In Pittsburg it's Big Ben.

But Drew's accomplishments will have him in the HOF as a first balloter. You decide.
