Predict the Saints home record this year. - Ben D.

I’ll be optimistic and say 5-3 at home, with losses to the Panthers, Seahawks, and Broncos.

Do you think the Saints will ever do PSLs? Perhaps to help for a stadium upgrade or just cuz the Bensons like money? - Hooah S.

Sigh. It must be the offseason. I cannot wait for it to end.

The correct answer is "nobody knows what the home record is going to be."

Football is unredictable because the effects of its parts are synergystic. During Payton's tenure the Saints are a much better team when their defense is middle of the pack. The last two years the defense has been historically abysmal. But if it's just a bit better, then you have different squad.

The Broncos are a different team. So are the Panthers.

No one know what the injury situation is going to be.

Too many variables to predict anything that'll happen months from now.

Gosh I really wish the offseason was over so articles like this will die the ignoble death they so richly deserve.

Agree, but its the off-season and predictions can be fun, albeit meaningless.

I prefer to look at the 2016 team on paper, compare apples to apples with other 2016 teams on paper to get a feel whether we have the ammo to compete for a championship.

Personally I think our 2016 team on paper looks to be as competitive as any other team. We have strengths other teams don't have and weaknesses other teams don't have.

From top to bottom I think we have 11 win talent.

Injuries, luck, scheduling can all affect our record by numerous games.

We could stay healthy and squeak out several really close games and finish 12-4.

We could also suffer key or excessive injuries and lose several really close games and finish 5-11.

On paper I think Carolina is just slightly better, and Atlanta and Tampa slightly worse.

We definitely have the talent to compete for the division title and for a playoff spot.

I doubt the Saints will lose to the Manning-less Broncos and Brees will pick on Browner like all the other QBs did last year.

Division games are always a coin flip.

I think I may have conveyed the incorrect sentiment. The postings for the articles and links are appreciated. It's just by necessity that the dead time before training camp is filled with speculation for the upcoming season because there's no real activity going on.

Come the end of the month once camp starts we'll all get to see the team as it is, not as what everyone speculates it will be.

I CANNOT WAIT!

Squeak out several close games? Is that what we are? We're not good enough to win comfortably?

Not what I said. Every year teams have close games. We came up short on too many of them.

If we win a few more of those close ones, along with our comfortable wins, we're looking at an 11 or 12 win season.
