Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears have begun negotiations with free agent OT Fred Miller (Titans) after his visit with the club Sunday, March 6. There is a possibility the Bears could strike a deal with Miller Monday, March 7.

After I read Mayberry was gonna be the RT, I didn\'t think we were gonna get him anyway.

I think both of our moves in FA so far have been great, but, we still need help on the O line and at LB. I think we should go after experience for the OLine and draft a young LB.
I think that if there is someone like Matt Jones available in the second round or later, we will probably go after him.....not saying I agree, just that we probably will.

Well..that\'s too bad...but...we have like 50% success so far on out attempts...and that\'s not so bad...

I still give a 7 so far on the Off Season...

ESPNews reports the contract signed by Chicago Bears OT Fred Miller is a five-year deal worth $22.5 million. ESPN.com\'s Len Pasquarelli reports the deal includes a signing bonus of $6 million and base salaries of $1 million (2005), $1 million (2006), $3 million (2007), $4 million (2008) and $4 million (2009). There is a $2 million roster bonus that is due next March and roster bonuses of $500,000 for each of the final three years.

Especially when you consider the 4th and 5th years are never going to happen, not without a cut or restructure.

His cap hit would\'ve only been 2.2 million this year. And with the (likely) cuts of Cie Grant, Sedric Hodge, T-Buck, Thomas, Riley, possibly Gleason, and Pathon, yeah, we could\'ve afforded that.

Damn.
