New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks could 'flirt with 1,500' receiving yards in 2016

Brandin Cooks exceeded all expectations by posting career-bests in receptions, yards and touchdowns during the 2015 NFL season. The New Orleans Saints and former Oregon State wide receiver will enter the team's 2016 camp as the No. 1 receiver and carry high expectations.

Don't flirt with it, marry it.

Doubtful.

Cooks is going to have some great games for us, but he'd need 93 yds/game...

Too many weapons, only one football...

Bad for Cooks, Great for the Saints...

Not to mention RJ Harris who I anticipate as the next deep threat like Henderson or Meachem. Payton likes to open up the middle by taking the top off. I'm excited about our receivers this year.

Do we have depth? Yes. But every NFL team can only keep X number of receivers because of the roster limitations. You just have to have good players on the practice squad to bring up if injuries crop up. I like the talent of the group competing for a roster spot or the practice squad.:bng:

Should also quantify my statement that Cooks may score fourteen (14) touchdowns this season...

That is more likely than 1500+ yards...

I would be happy with the same numbers as 2015

These writers dont realize/mention that Cooks didn't play 6 games his rookie season with a meaningless injury on the next to last offensive play of the game
And they didn't throw deep to him until the Packer game

Dbs like to jam him

This year he is playing nfcw afcw but no Josh Norman

He has superior hands and blazing speed

Hopefully Drew has the time, not pressured and can deliver

I'm all about stats but more about winning. Ask Megatron and Barry Sanders how it feels to tear it up in stats but come away with nothing year after year.

Fleener might catch more balls than Cooks. Snead could get even better and Thomas or one of last years guys or another rookie could get more targets. Cooks was all we had last
Year. I'm hoping we have 3, 4 or even 5 WRs who can scare the D this year. I say Cooks gets 1300 yds on 80 catches. Snead. Fleener and someone else will emerge. Thomas is billed as Colstons heir apparent, but Toon, Coleman and some other rookies gonna get a chance too. I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas ends up our 4th receiver this year. Someone mentioned RJ Harris. I like his skill set. Cmon preseason.
