We can talk about the issues at cornerback, in the run defense, and at pass rusher. There was arguably no bigger issue than linebacker last season.

The Saints tried to address their issues by flipping wide receiver Kenny Stills to Miami for Dannell Ellerbe and a draft pick, but Ellerbe suffered some injuries and was limited last season.

Offenses responded by picking New Orleans apart in the flats and over the middle, where the linebackers routinely had coverage issues. And as injuries mounted, the team was forced to turn to the streets to try and address a lack of depth.

I think Robertson is going to be a lock for the team very quickly. I think he will surprise a few people in how good he is

Needed a break to sort things out. All sorted and ready to go. Just in time too

Bit disappointed the Boldin rumours turned out to just be rumours. Still think he has something in the tank. Aswell as some of the best hands in the league

On the fence: Dannell Ellerbe IR time is too long. time to call the crap shoot results snake eye?

Good bets: Michael Mauti - special teams play plus he appears to be one of those players that gets a team fired up when he plays.

Agreed, wouldn't consider Ellerbe a lock when you factor the injury history...

I think so too Lee. From his tape, seems to be an ACE in coverage up in Cleveland. Excellent footwork, can run like a strong safety and punish you like a Mack truck. Unfortunately Ellerbe just can't stay healthy anymore.
