It's just not easy.
I'm concerned about what I've seen so far too.
But I'm nowhere close to demolishing and rebuilding.
I've seen some ugly football. And this is nowhere close to that. Not by a long shot.
Agreed. I have my concerns about the o-line as well, but I'm confident in two things. One - that getting into the regular season and running our actual offense will bring improvement, because it has to. Two - that if it is still a serious issue during the season they will do something to address it, because they have to. I'm sure the coaches and front office alike realize how potentially devastating the loss of Brees could be, anyone with a brain and eyes understands that.

Aside from the o-line and coughinjuriescough what else do we really have to worry about? This team looks to have a ton of young talent, more than I think I've seen at one time in all the years I've been a fan, mixed in with a pretty strong group of veterans. There's a lot to like and a lot of reason for hope. Real football is almost here ladies and gentlemen, and goshdamnit I'm excited about it. We all should be excited. It's okay to be excited people!

Re: NO SUGAR-COATING IT: Saints O-Line is TERRIBLE

I went to practice and sat next to the O-line and watched them closely. They don't seem as athletic as the D-line. In fact the O-line doesn't look athletic at all. They plod along. Between the whistles and horns(drill changes) their position group stands closer than any other. So, I think they are a close unit. But it's not a talented group. You could see it in position drills and throughout practice.

Watching Peat run gassers was pathetic. The fans groaned watching him run. Someone said he got lapped. He's soft and doesn't have the energy to be tough in the trenches.

He's still young though ya'll. We may be able to toughen him up with another year or two in the NFL. He looked much better this year with a year in an NFL weight training program and I think he will continue to develop.

I watched the replay, too. Protection was just as bad as ever, and so was the run game. And being that it IS pre-season, defenses aren't exactly firing away out there. Plus, there was no JJ Watt.

I'm all for giving guys time to gel, but this is the same group from last year.
I feel the same way Burn.

The concern over the O line is not overblown. The concerns are legit.

This is one of the reasons I'm not sold on our D. Poor play by the O line just makes them seem better. By game 4 regular season may tell alot about both sides of the ball. With teams watching game film they get a decent view of how to attack D's more easily Thats how most 1 hit wonders happen with the D little or no film. I do think we have alot of talent on the D side it's just how to use them properly.

Look up some stats on him compared to others in the league and you will be surprised

No Strief sucks. I don't care what the grade is, he is done. He has been done for the last 2 years. The only reason that he is starting is due to the fact Peat isn't ready to be The Full Time RT. In fact he may never be ready. I mean, JJ Watt was pleading with Coach Payton to better protect Drew Brees in last years game. I mean, come on man if that isn't an indication that Strief is done then nothing else will. Plus, a lot of Strief's success has to do with Drew's release and the fact that Evans was there to assist him for the last 5 years.

That is your opinion. It's wrong. But it is your opinion and you have the right to it.

Judging a RT on how well JJWatt does against you is foolish. He had 3 bad games in 2015 and played very well in the other 13.

Why must people focus on the 2 or 3 bad games instead of the 13 or 14 good ones?

No doubt he's starting to lose his battle with father time, but he didn't suck.

In fact Evans had a worse grade over the last few years than Strief did, and guess what, the coaches let Evans walk. Perhaps what you saw was Evans sucking and you blaming it on Strief?
