C'mon now. first of all it was 42 years of losing, not 50, but I know what you're getting at. However, the idea that because it used to be bad we should accept another 4 plus decades of losing before we show any signs of disappointment, seems extreme. We are fans, because we like to watch football. It's a lot more exciting when you are winning. Do you think that people weren't complaining for all (other than the few years where they actually made the playoffs) of those preceding 42 years?

That's been the most over used, and illogical statement since we won the superbowl, in my opinion. That we have no right to have a dissenting opinion after that. And the notion that because Saints fans endured all those bad years, that they are somehow a separate race of people, who never complained, and we should all feel lucky that we weren't them... We WERE them, we ARE them. Nobody likes losing.

If you're cool with it, I could just as easily accuse you of being a football pacifist. I could question how much you care, if you are satisfied to settle for one great year.

But I'm just going to let you think what you want, instead, and simply disagree. I will never forget that Superbowl. But that game wasn't the birth of my child. It's meaning doesn't carry over from year to year. It's a happy memory, but it was a game. We watch for entertainment, and I don't know who is entertained by losing. I'm not as down on this team as some may be, I'm somewhat optimistic (though probably more so for next year, depending on the QB situation) but I certainly have my dissenting thoughts and don't feel the need to apologize for them.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

We were 7-9 with the worst defense on the planet last year. We improved talent at nearly every position.

Yes we're extremely young and inexperienced, but I think we'll put it together and fight a very tough battle for the NFCS championship.

Saints 10-6 with the tie-breaker over 10-6 Carolina. Atlanta and Tampa at 8-8.
So what will our record be the first four weeks? This team has showed they have to start out above .500 to make the playoffs. What makes you think this year is a first? Defense is not gonna be enough if Drew and the oline keeps giving the ball back to the opposing offense. The saints defense isn't exactly a squadron in war. They are going to tire out after a half if they keep being put back on the field. I don't trust that Drew is bigger than a bad oline. Wanna know how I know that. Falcons week 16 2014.

The bright spot is Latavius Murray can't even do enough behind that improved oline and raiders can't stop the run so far. Lock down Crabtree, tackle Murray and run Ingram.
