Deadline is tomorrow at 4:00

RB will be interesting. Won't be surprided if we pull the plug on Cadet or Spillar

We still have 5 TE's and 2 FB's

Coleman looks like he might be safe

Didn't see much of Tommy Lee Thursday

Not sure if any of the rookie O-linemen did enough to make the roster

Kicker- was there a clear winner? Money-wise, Forbath makes exactly 45K less than Barth

so, in 48 hours 22 players will be ex-Saints

Re: Cuts, Part Deaux

I am watching the OL yet again and still to this day can not figure out what this coaching staff is doing.

playing so many player out of their natural position and jump others all around.

stop screwing around for once

so cuts should be interesting

Re: Cuts, Part Deaux

For me ...

TommyLee - he's earned a roster spot.
Marcus Murphy - electric in special teams & can change field position on any given return. I'be be surprised if he is cut.
Tull - can't seem to shed blocks well. Cut
Trae Elson - cut ... needs work on tackling in space.
Jack Allen - has has performed poorly last two games. Probable cut or PS.
Spiller - looks way better this year & appears to be completely healthy. Cuts & acceleration reminiscent of his Buffalo playing days.
G Grayson - he simply doesn't do it for me. Not a lot of touch on the ball & I've seen very little progress over two years.

Expect the Saints to make a move @ GUARD after all cuts are announced across the league tomorrow.

As for a kicker? No clue.

Tommy Lee has to have a roster spot in my opinion, I'd put him above of Brandon Coleman on the depth chart, the guy is shifty and breaks tackles.

Spiller does look much better, he finally looks comfortable on that knee and is running/cutting with purpose.

Tommy Cheeks - showed good speed on the Lambert screen pass, getting out and slowing down the DB.

Could Grayson be a candidate, Payton said in an interview he's not as far along as he should be?

Re: Cuts, Part Deaux

QB - Brees, McNown, Grayson
RB - Ingram, Hightower, Spiller, Murphy, Lasco
FB - Kuhn
WR - Cooks, Snead, Thomas, Coleman, TommyLee
TE - Fleener, Hill, Manhertz
OT - Armstead, Strief, Hills
OG - Peat, Lelito, Barnes, Turner
C- Unger
(25)

DE - Jordan, Edbali, Kruger, Gwachum
DT - Fairley, Davison, Jenkins, Rankins, Onyemata
LB - Ellerbe, Laurinaitis, Anthony, Robertson, Stupar, Mauti
CB - Breaux, Williams, Crawley, Finnegan, Dixon
S - Vaccaro, Byrd, Harper, Bell, Harris
(25)

K - Barth
P - Morstead
LS - Drescher

-They're going to keep Grayson. I wouldn't.
-Murphy is the KR. Lasco has special teams skills. I personally would cut Lasco.
-Tommylee is a playmaker. Love the size of Williams-Lambert.
-I think another blocking TE may be aquired and Manhertz let go.
-Hills is solid. Barnes can play any OL spot. Clearly not in shape though. Gave the nod to Turner because he's a true guard with potential. The backups could be fluid with other teams cuts.
-Kept Grawchum for his potential. Richardson just doesn't flash.
-Jenkins has earned a spot.
-Mauti earned a spot.
-Finnegan earned a spot.
-Dixon plays special teams well. Hopefully D. Harris will go to the PS.
-S Harris plays special teams well.
-Harper earned a spot although I could see him and Barnes being cut as to not guarantee their contract fully for 2017.
-I picked Barth due to his experience and consistent career numbers.

Re: Cuts, Part Deaux

I'm still disappointed that Dillon Lee didn't make this team; felt he had outpracticed and outplayed Mike Mauti...

Mauti has the hometown thing and one play working for him, but he's topped out...

But Dillon Lee had several forced turnovers, interceptions and can play all three linebacker spots; we're gonna regret letting him get outta the house...

Another cut that may come that would disappoint me WR Jordan Williams who just hasn't gotten the opportunities...

He had a stupid penalty, but two real nice grabs; he uses his big body naturally, as opposed to Coleman, and just needs reps...

I'd say another pending cut coming is OL Joe Cheek that will really disappoint who played Guard in college, but is a better Tackle...

Cheek really impressed the helloutta me on a kinda WR Bubble screen that looked like a touchdown...

Cheek recognized a pass rusher as off-balance, powerfully put him down with one hand, then hustled in space to the next level to destroy a defensive back and allowed a beautiful YAC run by Jordan Williams who showed impressive acceleration in traffic...

Honorable Mention: John Jenkins has had some tough injuries that's limited his development; really don't believe the guy is lazy; plus, his role has been changed three consecutive years - and that's tough; but I was glad to see him have a nice game...

Unfortunately, he probably put Ashaad Mabry out the door and that's regrettable because Mabry is a real talent that just didn't get the development, coaching he needed in college because of choices to stay home, supporting his family...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
