Okay. Can't do any worse than Fleener at this point.

Watson is gone for the year so it wouldn't matter.

Watsons career may be over. He even said it himself. You have to admit the FO knows when to cut player. Like Jamal Brown and several other good players we let go wound up getting hurt and never really recovering.

Fleener looked good in Preseason.
Hate he dropped that one conversion.
I'll say it again:
Players don't have to be great on every play.
Just be great on the 4-of-60 plays where your number gets called.
Defensively the same. Just make a play when the ball comes your way.
I think Fleener will be fine. Someone else to push him wouldn't hurt though.

While Fleener struggled, the main three receivers did not. The raiders simply took him out of the game.

Btw, that's what happens when you stick to volume and not split snaps with the fourth and fifth receivers. I don't think Snead was ever targeted like that before. Before the season I was calling him the fourth receiving option.

Hope the Saints sign Stoneburner. Not because I know anything about him, he just has a cool name.

I think there is probably zero chance that the Raiders' plan was to take Fleener out of the game. That makes no sense, and seeing what the others did should explain exactly why you wouldn't focus on Fleener.

They simply couldn't cover our receivers. Fleener wasn't really needed... Until the one play he was, and he dropped it. I said it when they signed him that he got some stats with the Colts because he played with Andrew Luck, who loves throwing to tight ends and was his teammate throughout college. But he always had the dropsies. So, to me, his perceived value was inflated.

It didn't look to me like he was fitting in during preseason, but no one did. Yesterday, though, all excuses were off. He made zero plays. Got to step it up.

He had four targets, so yeah in a way this was his problem in Indy. He's a volume TE.
