Re: Seasons over

The so-called 'fans', and I use that term loosely, are pissing me off to the heights of pisstivity!

People are wringing their hands like a bunch of bleeding heart liberals.

I am not happy about our 0-3 start, but I'm not going to throw the towel in on the season before the 1/4 mark.

I have read posts from people that say the team had better not use injuries as an excuse, but then post that if Breaux had been playing we would have beaten the Raiders and Giants! WTFO?

Here is how I see it:

Week 1 loss to the Raiders: A one point loss to an AFC team. Other than being a game the Saints should have won it is a loss and won't have tiebreaking implications.

Week 2 loss to the Giants: Our crappy defense held NY to zero offensive TDs; I will bet money no other team does that the rest of the year. This loss could come back to haunt us if the G-men don't win the division so looks like they will get a few million new fans for a season.

Week 3 loss to the failclowns: Another game the Saints should have won. Takeaway a Keystone cops-style turnover after forcing a PUNT that gifted them a TD, something the defense could never seem to do last year, and a tipped pass returned for a TD, and the Saints probably win this game. The Saints aren't always going to be good and the failclowns aren't always going to be bad. We seem to split the series a lot the last few years so we will probably beat them on the road later this year.

Also, does anyone really think that the Saints were going to go undefeated this year? I didn't think so. We knew that the Saints were going to lose some games, probably at least 5-6.

Wasn't it last year the failclowns started the season 5-0/6-0 but then crashed and lost the next 7 or 8 games; their high-water mark was knocking off the kittens.

The same way a losing streak, once started feeds itself, so does a winning streak.

I believe the Saints will get their first win against the Chargers, and after the bye will come out hungry and beat the kittens.

Re: Seasons over

Well I am not overly optimistic about the start, and we can't seem to catch the good breaks in these first 3 games, BUT, no other team had ever finished the season 0-3 and won a superbowl either. So we're 0-3 at the start, could we not still shock the world? Let's go boys, right the ship!!

Go back and listen to the comments during camp and pre-season when they stressed how important it was to come out the gate and winning to start the season. 3 games this team should have one. I don't care how you lose the fact remains you lost those games. There are no excuses. We are what we are and that is a miserable 0-3.

Re: Seasons over

I can't say I have given up hope for the season. Indifference, would be a better description of my emotion towards the team. We are strung out with injuries; a lack of a will to win; coaching ineptness (???) and countless other things we are not privy to.

Do I have faith it can change? Yes.

Will it change? Probably not.

I'm a Saints fan. To be honest, I'm not going to die if we end up 0-16 and I'm not going to become rich if we go 13-3 and win the SuperBowl. It's just part of the ride right now. Yes, the road we are on a bumpy and full of ginormous craters, but there has got to be smoother roads ahead.

Re: Seasons over

SEASON'S OVER??????

C'mon guys, this is the time when your team needs your support the most. How can the season possibly be over after only playing 3 games.

Yes we have lots of injuries and a lot of young players blah! blah! blah!

We also have another 13 games to play. The season isn't over until we mathematically can't make the playoffs. Then you people who are already writing this season off can quite correctly say "told you so" and I will tip my hat to you all.

Until/if that happens I'm not going to write this season off. This is the Saints your talking about, its never easy supporting those players out there dressed in black and gold, we all know that, but don't give up on them yet!!!!!!!!!!!

GEAUX SAINTS!

Re: Seasons over

I'm one of the original season ticket holders. I've seen the good & the bad.
This year it's just plain ugly considering we have a top 5 QB & a coach who took us to our first super bowl. I wish I could say I am optimistic about this season or our future. I fear Drew is pissing away his opportunity to become a hall of fame inductee and he will regret it. If this continues we will regret it. I don't believe the season will get any better. That doesn't mean I'm not a fan. I'm a realist.

Drew isn't at risk of being a HOFer... the guy could retire tomorrow and be a first ballot HOFer when eligible.
