Three Chargers offensive linemen battling injury*issues

Never want any player to be injured, but hope the Saints defense can take advantage of this!

Chargers left tackle King Dunlap missed practice again Thursday due to migraine headaches, and right tackle Joe Barksdale was again limited due to a foot injury.

The Chargers had a new addition to Thursday’s injury and participation report. Starting left guard Orlando Franklin did not practice Thursday due to a back issue.

With three starters in question three days from Sunday’s game vs. the Saints, the Chargers have some worries but the team has experienced backup offensive linemen in Kenny Wiggins and Chris Hairston.

NFL 2016 Injured Reserve Tracker | Spotrac

Unfortunately we have the 2nd most players on IR in the NFL.
Fotunately the Chargers are #1.

But alas our IR doesn't include Breaux, Ellerbe, Armstead, Davison, and Vaccaro

It might be a fact, but it's also an excuse.

I'm thinking that Drew's return to SD will have him highly motivated and
the Team will catch fire behind him.

I am kinda skeptical that any of this will actually slow the Chargers offense down. The Falcons and Raiders both pretty much moved the ball at will against the Saints; if they needed to run the ball, they ran the ball; if they wanted to pass the ball, they threw for easy wide-open first downs. Just like in 2012, the Saints' opponents this year have typically taken their sweet time moving down the field, operating in a basic, rudimentary, non-flashy offense, moving the chains, racking up first downs, doing pretty much whatever they wanted to, and hey, if you don't happen to get it on 3rd down, just line up go for it on 4th, you'll probably pick it up or get lucky with a penalty. At one point the Falcons scored points on six consecutive possessions the other night. Unless the Chargers play "Football Follies" level of bad on every series, at some point the Saints' offense against the Chargers will have to punt, and that will spell doom for the Saints when the Chargers get the ball back and score. Not encouraged by any of this.
