Craft resigned..Howard trade talks intensify

03/11 Saints defensive end Darren Howard is drawing lots of attention on the trade market. The Saints placed the franchise tag on Howard earlier this offseason for the direct purpose of not letting him go without getting something in return, and that trade payoff may be coming soon. The Saints are specifically targeting linebackers in trade talks. Meanwhile, the Saints have reportedly plucked cornerback Jason Craft back off the free agent market, agreeing with the Saints' nickelback on a four-year contract.

Targeting LB's huh?

I think Haz said none of the free agent LB\'s interested him, but through a trade he probably would be. I just can\'t wait for Howard to be traded so we can have cap space and hopefully a second rounder.

Hell I am more happy about Craft coming back... This guy knows how to play CB. Been keeping my eye on him in camp and working out. I liked him in camp last year and he has skills. He make Ambrose look sick, I was freakin mad last year Craft didn\'t start over Ambrose. Craft has got to get more playing time.

He will for sure this year E, more playing time that is and Toast is going to be picking splinters out of his butt all year or picking his nose sitting at home watching.

my thinking is that the front office is not totally a group of morons... they must know we need a linebacker ASAP... i believe that they feel with the guys left on the market, hartwell is asking too much and would eat up the remaining cap space... witherspoon would require we give too much in compensation to acquire him... i also believe the saints are showing their hand a little bit concerning the draft... if there are teams out there that pick after us that might want linebacker in the draft and have a particular person in sight, they may trade up in front of us, select them b/c they know we\'re going linebacker, and screw us totally.... all hell will break loose if derrick johnson is there at 14 or 15.... teams will fall all over themselves to trade up to try to get that man.... it\'s sort of similar to the d.j. williams fiasco of last draft.... denver knew we\'re going linebacker so they took him just in case...
