Two years ago, when the Saints headed to Tampa Bay for the season finale, Brandon Coleman got some bad news.

New Orleans brought another undrafted receiver, Seantavius Jones, up to the active roster for the game, leaving Coleman on the practice squad. Coleman was disappointed.

Sean Payton reminded Coleman of that decision in Tampa last week. Two years later, the Rutgers product has quietly established himself as a reliable No. 4 receiver for the Saints offense.

"Obviously, Willie (Snead) and Michael Thomas and Brandin (Cooks) have gotten the majority of the reps, and yet when we call upon Brandon Coleman to step in and make a big block or make a big third down catch, a red zone catch, whatever it might be, he’s there to do it," Saints quarterback Drew Brees said.

Coleman has 25 catches for 273 yards and three touchdowns this season, using his big frame to excel as a blocker in the running game and make a few timely catches each game along the way.

Wonder why he isn't complaining that he doesn't get the ball enough. Cmon Brandon...you know "quiet mouths don't get fed."

I like what we have for receivers. The drops lately haven't been really that swell, but that doesn't happen all the time. It's a young group with a lot of up side.

For a #4 receiver he is ok but still needs to fix the drops. They always come at a critical time.
