The News-Tribune reports free-agent LB Anthony Simmons’ (Seahawks) career could be heading south. The former No. 1 draft choice, released by Seattle last week, has landed in New Orleans for a free-agent visit with the Saints. When healthy, Simmons possesses the speed and athletic ability that made him Seattle’s top pick in 1998. But after clashing with coaches and missing 20 games to injury since 2002, Simmons is looking for a second chance.

If he can stay healthy I think he would be a really good pickup. Maybe he just needs a fresh start. If he comes cheap, then his addition certainly wouldn\'t hurt.

I\'m on board. He would be a decent pickup. We still need to draft a LB in the first 3 rounds though.IMO

Yes without a doubt. I just hope we lose Hodge and Rodgers in the offseason. I would like to keep Ruff and Allen as backups and have Watson, Simmons and Colby at starter. although i would rather have DJ in the draft, but that seems unlikely!

Simmons has not played a full season in the last 3 years. HE better be cheap, or I don\'t want him.

He should come cheap. Injuries hamper value, look at Ty Law. I don\'t think he is going to be a pro bowler, but he still would be an upgrade. Has anyone heard if Rob Morris of Indy has signed anywhere?

Simmons definately has talent but we haven\'t had any luck with troubled players... Albert Connell, Dale Carter, blah blah. But if you really think about it, our defensive does need some personality.
