Five 1st round picks, two 3rds, one 4th, one 5th, one 6th, and one 7th round pick for Charles Grant and Jonathan Sullivan. Sound outrageous? I agree, even if Sullivan was a real player. Six years later it still makes my head spin. That is what is cost. It is amazing the franchise has done as well as it has we ya consider that.

The numbers-
1999: 1st and 3rd thru 7th
2000: 1st and 3rd
FOR
Ricky Williams
Ricky Williams
FOR
2002: 1st from Miami
2003: 1st from Miami

2002 Miami 1st= Charles Grant

2003 Miami 1st + 2003 N.O. 1st= Sullivan

one of the worst trades in NFL history-starting with giving up all those picks to get williams. I just hope we don\'t try to draft clarret this year.

You math isn\'t logical. But quite creative.

We gave up two 1st\'s for Rickey, and got two 1st\'s back so we\'re down to zero net 1st rounders.

So we actually gave up only three 1st rounders for two players (Sullivan/Grant) and then all those late rounders. But we also moved up several spots in the 2nd with Zona.

Doesn\'t really make me feel any better though.

One of those 1st rounders was the 2nd overall pick tho. Washington picked LaVar Arrington & Champ Bailey with the two 1st rounders. Imagine what we would of been had we took those two players instead of Ricky.

it wasnt a 2 first for 2 firsts. we gave them additionally 2 thirds and the fourth thru seventh. this isn\'t even beginning to calulate the value difference of the better firsts we gave than ended up getting as rAge pointed out. you are right on the 2nd round switch. that was necessary to balance the 17-18 value of 1850 with the #6 at 1600 pts., 57 for 34. we still ended up 80 pts on the short end. i understand what you are saying. i am just pointing out as a net result of all those picks we got one good defensive end, a alltime bust, and 3100 yds of rushing. pretty pricey and depressing however ya slice it.

getting duece was a suprise..but honestly after watching him run over auburn and just about every other team. i was kinda glad we got him...but:

i worried then, and it has been validated sense that he is a lazy player who is often injured.
