i think a 2nd might be possible for horn. a 3rd at least. troy williamson or clayton at #16 would be a replacement i could stand taking a chance on.

i think tightwad loomis might even do something reasonable since it is akin to his penny pinching nature. let him play out this year under the contract and see what he gets offered a year older from now. if it is a top 6, 10, or whatever contract better can be had all the more then with his legs older. if he wants to pull a mccardell, go ahead. if it means enough to forfeit almost $5mil, more power to ya. if i was king i might not even try to trade ya before the deadline in that scenario unless getting a high 2nd. 5mil goes a long ways on yacht payments.

i\'m in the williams is a stud camp. i would characterize him similar to danno- a bigger, badder, version of michael clayton. besides skill he has game.

this draft doesnt have a defined elite upper end but i do think it is very deep at several positions. we have #40 and hope to end up with dallas\' #42. my upper end hope for a horn move would be #33 from the niners. mccarthy convinces nolan he is a go-to guy and has some gas left. he provides a veteran target for rodgers or smith to throw to. #16, 33, 40, and 42... i like it. the bucs are actually talking another wr but i would hate to face him twice a year. ditto carolina needing a moose replacement.

Who, hilarious buddy.

Didn\'t Cowart just go for a 6th rounder? I don\'t think we\'re going to get any more than a 3rd rounder for Joe. I think that in part that is because people over-value youth and potential. People view picks as the key to the future - proven players are for filling holes.

In fact, straight up, I bet you\'d likely get a 4th rounder for Joe. I 3rd seems possible. No one is going to give us a first rounder for Joe - at least not one high enough to get Williams. It is a nice dream though.

JKool, not to pick on you bud, but did you even read the thread? At all? Noone suggested Joe would draw a first that high just by himself. All kinds of scenarios were discussed. Just wondering.

williams is going to be good. and barom bro joe kept his mouth shut last year. but i would give joe and a secodn or third of this year to try to move up and get a high enough first pick tyo get williams. but i wouldnt give joe and another first for that.

My bad Whodi.

I had a lot of catching up to do, and I had to do some skimming. Apologies.

All these people doubting Mike Williams....I just have a question. What better idea do you guys have than to trade Horn for a chance to get Mike Williams. There is no one in college football right now that is the physical specimen that he is or the ball player. The people doubting him must have been watching LSU exclusively during their National Championship year, because there\'s no way you could have seen him play.

With his latest demand, it\'s pretty obvious that we need to start planning for the future right now before we get caught with no reciever at all. I love Horn don\'t get me wrong, but it makes the most business sense to deal him right now. I say get what we can get for him.

Gumbo you say that Mike Williams may not do well in the pros? What are you basing that on? All you can really do is speculate how a pro will do based on his performance and competition in college. Braylon Edwards is the only other WR that comes close. If you don\'t like these guys who could you possibly like????

Some people just name all of the problems and none of the solutions.

GT, I am with you man. I would rather have Mike for the next 10 years than Joe for maybe the next 3. Mike Williams is the real deal. No CB in the NFL has his size, hell half the LBs don\'t. And he is a playmaker, in the true sense of the word. I would deal Joe and make every effort to get this guy. HE is a beast. He is the most solid wideout to come into the draft in a while.
