WR Joe Horn's agent, Ralph Vitolo, is still negotiating an extension for the WR Joe Horn, who has one year remaining on his contract.

A $1 million roster bonus is due from the Saints to Horn on Thursday but no offer has been made yet by the Saints. The Saints asked that the $1 million roster bonus payment be delayed but Horn's camp refused.

There was a conference call today between Vitolo and Saints head coach Jim Haslett. Haslett apparently understands and the two sides are still hard at work.

The Saints may have been hoping to get the Darren Howard and Tebucky Jones situations settled before Thursday's roster bonus was due.

In addition to earning a $1 million roster bonus on March 17, Horn is due $3.8 million in base salary for the 2005 season.

I'm not sure there is an easy way out of this thing..we need him..He's expensive..and we need money too...

No cap space. He should just collect his 4.8 and play ball. He performs well every year and shouldn\'t put the Saints in a bad position. His money will come. Meanwhile, who do you think will get an extension first? Deuce, Bentley, or Horn? For me personally I would sign Bentley first, Deuce second, and Horn third. The good line and running game is what you need to have a successful offense... If you really think about it, will the Saints even have enough to resign him? Grant will soon want an extension, so who would you rather have? Grant or Horn? How about McKenzie and Horn? Ah HA! Replies should be interesting! :P

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Joe Horn reminds me of the quarterback on Mr. Deeds. He comes in demanding more money after a great season so maybe Loomis should play the role of Deeds and ask Horn if he will take a pay cut if he has a bad year in 2005. I am also getting tired of Horn doing this every freakin year. The point is he is a millionare playing a game for a living, let him come to work with me and make what I make for a year and I bet he changes his tune. I like Joe alot but this is getting old fast!

I found this on another Forum..It seems like an Internet article..but the author gave no link...

Another Saints issue: Wide receiver Joe Horn, who seems to request a contract upgrade on a yearly basis, is making noise again. Don\'t look for New Orleans to make any kind of move to enhance his deal. The Saints want to work on contract extensions for tailback Deuce McAllister, center LeCharles Bentley and cornerback Mike McKenzie. They\'ve taken care of Horn\'s grievances in the past, he\'s still under contract, and the team will turn a deaf ear to his rather plaintive bleating this time around.
