With Rankins and Davison your likely starters, would you spend that kind of money on a reserve defensive tackle?
Davidson is no where on the level of Fairley. You are reaching brother.

Well it was said on NOLA.com so it must be true. This is the writers opinion just like yours and mine. That's all.

Don't forget we won the superbowl with Sedrick Ellis, Remi Ayodele and Anthony Hargrove as the rotation.

Sure Fairley deserves an extension, but if he wants to handicap the team for one then no thanks.

Re: Fairley Staying?

If we were "one player away" I'd say pay him $9-10MM.

Re: Fairley Staying?

I would hate to see what this line would look like without Davison? We're about 1 more good NT away from making the interior being a true force. Fairley has benifited from good nose play but he's not able to play the nose effectively at all. I'm all for letting Fairley walk and getting another good NT in there that puts the D line over the top. Ony, Rankins, Davison and another good NT and we're in buisness. That young group that could terrorize O lines for years to come and have the ability to rotate at will.
