Payton not willing to give up #11 for Butler

Sean Payton: New Orleans Saints won't sign Malcolm Butler to offer sheet

Good news, Payton is standing his ground. Does not appear he is willing to give up the #11 pick.

I don't think anyone ever thought that was an option.

Like those who insisted a deal was all but done for Butler and that was why they got such a minimal return for Brandin Cooks? 'Cause I read a lot of that, about two weeks ago now. I guess all those dogmatic opinions of people who had that all figured out are now realizing it wasn't that simple.

The Patriots don't play buddy ball. We might not trade the #11 pick, but that doesn't mean the Patriots won't ask for it, which it appears they have, and that is precisely what I tried to tell a few people who insisted this handshake deal was already in place. They aren't just going to level the playing field for us to be "fair". Nor should they. As much as I don't like the Patriots, they have to do what's best for them, and our team needs to stop thinking the Patriots are our friends.

We killed two birds with one stone this week. The first being the Manziel crap.

As previous posters have stated, giving up pick #11 wasn't even an option.

My most recent wish list at #11 :

Reuben Foster (assuming Cincy passes on him) - LB extraordinaire
Takkarist McKinley - DE
Solomon Thomas - DE (I don't think he gets past San Fran)
