Re: Mixon?

I don't know what all the fuss about Mixon is, he will go to Cincinnati or Kansas City and have a good career.

Re: Mixon?

He'll be long gone before the Saints should use a draft pick on a RB.

I may be a little partial to justice being served, but I wish the NFL would just bar punks like this from being drafted at all.

Hold them to the fire a little bit to try to produce a more humble, genuinely repentant person.

That happened years ago, not yesterday. Who is to say he isn't already "a more humble, genuinely repentant person."

Re: Mixon?

Doesn't matter if he did it yesterday or 40 years ago, doesn't mean he can't play in the NFL -- just can't be drafted. I'm speaking of setting a precedent as much as I'm speaking of this individual case.

We could speculate if he's more repentant or not, but why speculate, when we could just apply the punishment to everyone, regardless?

Mixon gets a no vote from me.

Re: Mixon?

I don't really think doling out justice and punishment belongs within the NFL's authority. Not for things outside of the game itself. They already have a bit too much reach as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Mixon?

The young man has one very stupid, highy reactive, impulsive incident, where the young woman was far from innocent, and he should be banned for life? Come on. What Vick did was far worse in my opinion and he was given a second chance. If he's there in the third, you draft him because he's a great football talent. If he screws up again, he's out. The Saints have Ingram and Lasco. Plus, the Saints can get a high quality back in rounds six and seven. I personally think the Saints will pass on him regardless.

Let some other team take that chance...

We got rid of Junior Galette for similar reasons (i.e. Beach Belt Party) and took a helluva salary cap hit to make the point...

If we're gonna be consistent in our standards, Mixon shouldn't see the inside of the Saints' locker room not make our board...

And irregardless of the girl's past, he still showed his punk nature when he bullied, then sucker-punched her - video doesn't lie...

And I don't remember Michael Vick wearing the black and gold, what the other kids do has no bearing on our team...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Mixon?

Due diligence.

For all we know, Mixon could turn into a Tyrann Mathieu type of player. Lots of problems in college and goes to the pro and becomes and outstanding running back and model member with no off-field issues.

For Sean Payton to even visit with the guy speaks volumes about Mixon's ability. It will be interesting to see where he lands.
