When former Clemson QB Deshaun Watson arrived at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the 13th Annual Manning Award Ceremony presented by the Allstate Sugar Bowl Thursday afternoon he stopped to snap a photo of the empty arena with his phone.

The projected first-round draft pick was later asked if the Dome was a place he'd want to play his pro ball in.

"I wouldn't mind it," Watson said. "I wouldn't mind coming here and playing whether I'm on the Saints or playing against the Saints.

"It's always good to come in different arenas and see them. It's always good to be able to come back for the second time."

So far however Watson has only met with the Saints at the NFL combine.

"We just talked football," Watson said. "The 15 minutes went by quick so as much as we can, we try to get to know each other and talk ball."

Watson said he did however get to spend more time with Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

"He came by one of my training sessions after the combine," he said. "We kind of hung out and talked ball. He didn't throw or anything. He just kind of watched and gave some good advice to us and it was a successful day."

And I wouldn't mind waiting for another draft that actually has good NFL ready talent at the QB position, before drafting one.

The real talent in the Clemson passing game were those receivers...

WR Mike Williams was a beast and WR Hunter Renfrow was death by a thousand cuts...

Those two more than anything bailed Watson out over and over against that great 'Bama D...

Watson won't get away with that crap in the N-ot F-or L-ong league...

If he's there at #11, he will be the best player available. He's the best QB in the draft by far. There won't be an available defender who will have the impact on the Saints organization the way Waston could. Period.

Right, Watson would be the best defense - for the opposition...

This is the NFL we're talking about, not college...

Chuck it and pray your receivers bail you out want work the whole season...

Then the QB class is bad. I am not impressed by Watson at all. He won a championship with a good team. Individually he doesn't appear to be anything but an average NFL backup, at best.

Watson's great, there's no denying that but as along as Drew is healthy, Watson will have zero impact on the field. At eleven, I'd like to get someone that starts day one off opening season. There's a dozen guys on defense in this draft that would be the assumed starter.
