If my teams CB is blanket covering a WR and making picks he can talk as much smack as he likes.

This team could have done with a few Richard Sherman/Steve Smith types the last few years. They will go out there and fight and bleed for you.

There is a big difference to them and the attitude Galette had.
I agree. It seems like people want bad asses but not the attitude that comes with it.

Re: Average age of decline for position players outside of QB and RB?

I found this article from a couple years ago. While I believe the numbers are accurate when considering the position groups in general, I don't think it applies to any specific individual.

Position - Peak Age Range
Tackles - 25-31
Centers - 26-32
Quarterbacks - 26-30
Guards - 26-29
Wide Receivers - 25-27
Tight Ends - 25-27
Running Backs - 24-27

These are the ages at which the average Joe NFL player starts to see a drop off in overall performance. But it would be foolhardy to try to apply this to any individual player.

Precisely.

The fire that Jeremy Shockey brought to the team was phenomenal, I still think he was one of the main reasons our offense was so physical in 09.

Almost like wanting a hot chick that can cook too.

But to your point, speaking only for myself, I'd like a bad ass that isn't a dumb ass.

Put me in the boat that Richard is a smart bad ass. I mean he has an extremely high football IQ. At this point I'd take Sherman or Butler on my team. Not enough dawgs in the secondary.

Agreed. I'd take Sherman in a heartbeat. He's a loudmouth but he's not a dumbass. There is a difference. When I say dumbass, I'm thinking about guys like

Prince Shembo, Micheal Vick, Greg Hardy...

Guys that didn't know the difference.

George Blanda a 43 year old QB in 1970 had a great 5 game run at QB and PK played 5 more years as a full time "last of the straight ahead style kickers". retired at 48

Cool story, how does that apply to this century?

The O-line gets to play the longest besides QB. That is pretty cool considering they are the trench players.
