Gullickson and Haslett on Jon Sullivan

Sullivan, meanwhile, reported at 337 pounds, 12 less than he weighed at the same point last year and 22 more than his prescribed playing weight, according to Gullickson.

However, Sullivan, a former No. 1 draft choice who has been a major disappointment in his first two seasons, won't be able to lift weights for at least another four weeks after severing a tendon in his left hand in a household accident.

"He had a setback with his hand, but I thought his effort this week was outstanding," Gullickson said. "I have no intention to kick him to the curb. He seems to have more enthusiasm and you can see it in his eye. He feels bad for how he started his career and he is trying to make amends, but he has got a ways to go.

"He is getting better. One of the philosophies that I have always held true is that you give a guy three years in your program and you should see some sign at that point where things are going to be good or not so good. We are kind of at that point this year."

Haslett is still waiting to see Sullivan demonstrate the ability that led New Orleans to trade up to the sixth pick in the 2003 draft to select him.

"You know the old saying that you can lead the cow to the trough, but you can't make him drink the water," Haslett said. "We will do everything possible we can as coaches that we need to do to get this kid to help us win football games and that is our goal this year."

papz --

I hate to correct you here, but you are wrong. It\'s not the same info. It was not confirmed in the press conference that Sullivan cut a tendon in his hand.

Same topic.
Same poster.
Different info.

Thanks anyway ....
